Opinions are not reviews, but they can fit into one.

Reviews are opinions, just educated ones.

No, an opinion may or may not be an integral part of a review, but it is not the review itself. To make a review you need to provide a synthesis of researchs about the item you're reviewing, akin to any other review: like the longevity, the gameplay, the graphics, the soundtrack and the story. THEN you give your personal opinion in every area, or not.

You could say you didn't like the twist of Bioshock: Infinite, which is an opinion, but ignoring that the game is founded into a solid story, then you're reviewing it wrong.

There is nothing wrong with a meta score of 79. The standards of some people......

Every reviewer is differet, sometimes people use star systems, some use 1/10's. Some break things down in thirty minutes, others in four minutes. Revewing is only a breakdown of the experience and a final score. How you break it down is entirely up to you as long as you have an educated opinion. As i said, all those games (and possibly more) sold via word of mouth.

No a 70's score is good in my book anyday. But if Sony fans hyped it in the 90's and it gets a 70's score, I will comment on their unrealistic expectations if thats what you are inferring.

If that's true, I'll definitely pick it up some time in the future.

I personally do not believe 79 or a 73 is a bad review score or a bad metascore. I've seen people from the Xbox side give PS Exclusives like Starhawk a hard time just because it got 75's. There fanboys just waiting to attack. Platinum Games has always been capable of a 70-90 level game. Its just how it goes with them, when they make one thing great which is gameplay the story generally suffers from horrible writing.
