Its genius actually. Sony is making the Vita the indy portable.

Thats not what I would call genious by any stretch of the imagination !

Don't you remember playing small games on the Gameboy? Well convience of playing small indy games feels more at home on a portable. I've always felt that way. This might convince me to get a Vita for sure. Damn Sony!

Around the Network

inFamous, yeeeeeeeeeeey.

Best looking PS4 game thus far, from Sony.

..but seriously guys. even if you aren't into indies all the much holy fuck at the sheer quantity of game announcements.

Damn it! It doesn't count damn it! :( If it's not AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, or has a 90billion pound budget, it doesn't count!!!!!!

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

An AMIGA re-make? Shutup and take my money Sony!

It's just that simple.

Good. More Infamous footage is a good thing.

From what I am reading, Sony has little showmanship lol

Some PS3 stuff, Vita price cut to boost sales. And a lot of indie showings.......Sony getting very predictable :P

Its genius actually. Sony is making the Vita the indy portable.

With the strides in the indie scene MS is making, and with Vita not exactly selling like hotcakes, the Sony indie pushing is becoming largely moot. It isn't their differentiating point like it was in May.

Im waiting for the 1 or 2 PS4 announcements. This conference is just filler until then IMO

They are getting there and I doubt it will just be two.

Abigail Walker has the voice actor of Sarah from FFXIII. I can tell instantly.

Wow, has it been an hour since it started already? Time flies I guess!

It's funny, as a person who likes games, I'm genuinely happy to hear about these games coming to the Vita. I'm pretty excited. Then I check this thread and I'm blown away by the whining. "OMG these are INDIE games, I can't play them! Waaah!"

Good god. They're just fucking games, incredible graphics or not.

While a Xbox gamer woulsd agree with you, there is a legitimate cultural difference between both fan groups.

PS fans, are defined by their love for the allmighty "console, AAA, exclusive, retail, gamepad based game"

Vita indie titles largely fall outside those 5 criteria.

Not true. Playstation grew as a name because it welcomed a variety of all games. The Playstation gamer was thus known for that.

Thats a misconception, given how the PS brand evolved because of 3rd party retail, AAA, gamepad exclusives. PS3 made it with 1st party retail, AAA, gamepad exclusives. PSN never had the selling power of XBLA this gen, as their best games were critically acclaimed but never had the selling power of XBLA heavy sellers, nevermind Minecraft.

Seems PS mega hype throughout the years are defined by console heavy hitters from my criteria. Resistance 1, Motorstorm 1, MGS4, LBP, Uncharted 1-3, GT5, The Last of Us......

These indie showings strike me as padding, to buy time for their big guys to make those games of the 5 criteria. Many of them are still recently finishing or done PS3 versions, they need time to ramp up their first PS4 game.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
