Their development schedule was months behind Sony, which is why Sony was prodding at the beginning of the year to show what they had. Sony head to head launching with you is tough to beat.

However, launching at the sam eprice (or worse, more expensive) than a PlayStation, in the same year, has always been a battle for anyone that went that route. This will be Microsoft's 2nd time either coming in ith them or launching after. However, Sony hasn't been Microsoft's biggest hurdle for the 8th gen, thus far, it's themselves. |
I remember seeing a documentary about Microsoft developing the 360 and they were scared to shit about what Sony would launch with and the industrial design guys were thinking long and hard about what would work. They are especially watchful after the first gen, knowing they had to launch early.
Id take this as good and bad.
Good:
That they have enough demand that they NEED to do this to meet it (in the larger markets). Considering how they started off with the X1 and all the bad press (both deserved and manufactured), I know they are happy with this.
Bad:
I would be really upset if I was in one of those countries and was looking to get a launch edition. You still will, just a "later" launch edition.
Microsoft confirmed that they would not prevent people from importing

I know people will ask "what about digital games?",i think people can go ask MS for first party games, any 3rd parties for 3rd party games(since MS is not the one control all 3rd party games will be ip locked of not)
For Xbox Live-come on,it's not like MS suddenly forget Xbox One need online once before it can works, worst case should be you need create or change your region to like US,UK etc before the console release in your country
I know for sure in switzerland, 30% speak french, and its french from France, not french from Some alien country, same about or brasil/portugal, some parts in belgium speak french too, so Language issues is just a lie to me.
But well not care much was not gonna get this at launch, and confirm my first choice to get my ps4 this holyday in switzerland :D

It's interesting news indeed however I think your 'Good' option is the reason why, focus on market they know they can maybe get a foot hold in. So lets say they reserved 100,000 unit for UK, now they have 120,000 to meet whatever demand was there (don't know of real numbers, just guessing). The OS is just software so easily rolled out onto the hardware.
Hmm, pie.

Sorry but no,check back what i said in this thread few hours ago, twitter support know nothing more than us according to past few months ago's news, even most people in gaf already know that
This is just same as 360,people can go marketplace normally because it won't be ip blocked, but hard to say can buy games or not
It's funny that you "care" Xbox One so much and still don't know this,or maybe you act like you don't know this
