I still remember the bashing this game got based on its cel shaded graphics. >.<
Anyways I think it could do maybe 3 mill, I don't really see it surpassing the gamecube version in sales.

RE 4 for Wii wasnt a remake it was a port with pointer controls. THat was literally it, we have a strange idea of what a remake is. Hell this WW game isnt a remake.
I really would love to someday further down the road see them make an HD remake of Twilight Princess as well. I think it's a great game, and deserves the same treatment. They can go ahead and remake Majora's Mask for 3DS as well. But I would love to see TP in full, glorious HD, perhaps with the fully orchestrated soundtrack that Kondo originally wanted to have (even though the soundtrack as-is is still awesome).

NSMB Wii sold close to 30m. |
Well I was wrong, I predict 10mill zelda is about 1/3 of marios popularity

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
I'm under the impression Zelda U will release next year, so that might hinder WWHD's sales further.
#1 in the top 5 of most beautiful cel-shaded games ever (in front of Valkyria Chronicles, Okami, Ni no Kuni, Skyward Sword).
2-2.5 million lifetime.

It joule do pretty well, and persuade a fair few people to jump inboard with the system. Wind Waker is a favourite of a lot of people who played it. And I know a couple people who are considering changing from PS4 to Wii U depending on how the game ends up.
However, it will still likely only do 2.5mil LT. It's a remake, and a pricey one.

This game wasn't made to fill the game drought, because when it was greenlit, a game drought wasn't even expected. The Wind Waker was a posterchild for GameCube-Gameboy Advance connectivity. A GBA that was connected to the GC would display a map and offered a few other insignificant features. The Wii U is the evolution of GC-GBA connectivity, so The Wind Waker is an obvious choice for a re-release, because it shows off all the "greatness" of the connectivitiy idea and thus will prove how awesome the Gamepad is. On topic: What speaks for the game is that there won't be any backlash (thus no anti-hype), because the artstyle isn't anything new for Zelda anymore. What speaks against the game is that those who gave it a chance back then have obviously already played it and most likely won't buy it again. It will definitely sell a million copies, but that's about it. |
Excellent point re: GBA connectivity. What's tragic is other GC/GBA titles - PacMac Vs, FF:CC and LoZ:Four Swords (which would have been a cool bonus with WW) would all have people complaining that they can only use one (or two) gamepads.
Otherwise I concur.
Maximum 3 millions, probably somewhere between 1 and 2 millions. It all depends on Nintendo's marketing.
Wishful thinking much? Even people around me say I'm too optimistic on my out look, but this is too much. Still getting this game, even if I don't have WiiU to play it again. :)
2.5 million and I'm being generous.
