You have to remember that the hardware was basically the same as the Gamecube, just with a speed boost. So that means they hade a LOT of time to get used to the hardware.

That said the Xbox's gpu is on par with the Wii's, slightly more powerfull if you take memory bandwidth in to account. Altough Wii has slightly more RAM. So yes they could be possible on a 6th gen console if the developer hade enough time for it.

So you are saying it would take more time and potentially reductions due to having less RAM for one of the better Wii games to appear on the Xbox. Isn't that just saying that it can't be done with the same graphical faithfulness?

Honestly this is like comparing the SNES and Sega Saturn, with a different medium and constraints due to the hardware many of the Saturn games could have been on the SNES.

I'm sure any Wii game could be ported to the original Xbox with little or no sacrifice.

Have you guys not seen games like Riddick, DOA3, Ninja Gaiden, Doom 3, Far Cry, Half Life 2, Fable, Just Cause, etc...

It should also be noted they stopped making original Xbox games a long time ago. As time goes on developers seem to push limited specs farther. We didn't see developers continue to push the Xbox hardware shortly after the 360 was released.

We are talking maybe a little lower texture quality here, nothing major. To put it differently the difference between Xbox and PS2 is much bigger than Xbox and Wii, and those are from the same generation. The original Xbox even has things that can't be done on the Wii, like more advanced shader support. The question was if something similiar could have been done and the answer is yes. If you are talking about can't be done i'm thinking along the lines of Uncharted on the original Xbox, the resolution alone is much bigger.

Skyward Sword comes straight to mind.

Skyward Sword has an amazing art style, but when it comes to cel-shaded graphics, I believe it's a bit harder to convince that they couldn't be done past gen.

you don't know what cell sahding is, do you?

this any game that has been listed already could have been done on 6th gen, maybe not PS2 but xbox could have handled those no problem, hell I still say Halo2 looks better than just about anything on WIi. Brawl? LOL

cel shaded

Web definitions

Cel shading (often misspelled as 'cell shading') or toon shading is a type of non-photorealistic rendering designed to make computer graphics appear to be hand-drawn. Cel-shading is often used to mimic the style of a comic book or cartoon. It is somewhat recent, appearing from around the beginning of the twenty-first century. The name comes from cels (short for celluloid), the clear sheets of acetate which are painted on for use in traditional 2D animation.

This is what I got for it, Skyward Sword I believe fall in to this category.

But maybe I'm misunderstaning the meaning of your question?

skyward sword DOES NOT fall in this category, wich made me doubt if you knew what cel shading is. apparently you know what it's definition is but not what it looks like.

GPUs from the Wii and from Xbox are so different that any heavily optimized code ported from one to another would require a lot of work to keep it running smoothly.

For instance, a code created for the fixed point Wii's GPU will not be able run well on a very flexible and programmable GPU like the one on the Xbox unless it was is a few generations ahead of the Wii's GPU.

On the other hand, a code for Xbox's GPU would be able to run well (on even better) on the Wii's GPU only if algorithms used on it could have many if its parts computed by fixed point functions on the Wii's GPU.
