This is not a surprise and Live is far superior service, in my opinion.

Fixed.

Or do you know what the service is like on the PS4 or the Xbox One?

Well. In Australia live is a superior service over PSN, that's not opinion.
Microsoft has far more servers here allowing for lower latencies and higher throughput and peering arangements with allot of internet providers to allow the data transferred over Xbox live to not be counted towards your monthly data limit.

Granted, that's the actual service, whether Xbox Live! is superior to the Playstation Network will change depending on the region you live in and the internet provider you are with to the type of internet connection you are using.

The content each service has to offer however, is an entirely different kettle of fish.

The PSN network still has a long way to go to catch up to Steam and Xbox live in my opinion in regards to the more technical aspects.

Why would you buy a next gen console and not have a Gold account or PSN+? If you really are that anti-social and never play online sharing videos wouldn't be something that interests you in the first place. Once again more whining for no reason from people not interested in buying the Xbox One in the first place.

Could not have said it better myself. Almost no one commenting here was planning to buy it anyways.

Everyone just needs to accept that paywalls are a thing ... even Sony does it which is a much greater scandal than anything that has come out about Xbox One recently considering that "free online" was the battle cry of the PS3.

Microsoft has a paywall. Sony has a paywall. Nintendo will have a paywall soon.

Really you guys?

Microsoft announced that as long as one person on the xbone has gold, everyone can play online on that system. That meant I could just have a family GOLD account and still play online on my personal account.

Now you guys are arguing that every player on a system should pay for GOLD, even when all but one can already play online without it? You're so wrong it's almost comical. This has nothing to do with being anti-social or not wanting an xbox one.

We are not arguing that every player should have Gold ... we are just saying that the kind of player that will use this feature will 10/10 times have a Gold account already so people are complaining over something incredibly trivial.

There was also some justifiable scorn towards posters on here (often with giant sigs that feature Sony games/products) complaining about this feature that they will never use, because their next gen console choice is clear.

I don't make it my mission to go into threads about the PS4 just to bash them ... especially when I have no intention of buying a PS4 anytime soon if ever.

1. I don't have GOLD on my account yet I want this feature. Bam you're wrong.

2. Does a person's love for a different system automatically make what they post worthless?

3. So you're saying the people upset about this have a mission to go into xbone threads just to bash them?

well it's clearly because of your sig made completely of Sony Kaz hirai gifs and I think in one of them there is a guy actually making love to the dvd tray of a ps3? that was a bit much! Really annoying at this stage when you can't raise any concerns about a console you were looking forwards to because you've immediately been a playstation fanboy for years.

The point is that it would seem they are clearly not looking forward to the console regardless of this feature ...

Take my sig for example. I show my Xbox gamerscore and it is (somewhat) high. Without looking at my post history, take a wild guess which next gen console I am looking forward to. If someone has a Playstation Nation banner on their sig, a gif showing a PS4 erasing a Xbox One, their trophy card ect. ect. then I don't think it is unreasonable for me to assume they are probably interested in a PS4 over say a Xbox One or Wii U.

It would be like if I walked into your house/apartment/whatever and I saw a bunch of Call of Duty posters on your wall. One would assume you like the game. Now there may be other reasons for you to have them on your wall, but that would be the first thing to come to mind.

I am not saying that they can not have a valid point even if they don't plan to get an Xbox One. What I am saying is that it is petty, and completely unecessary to act as though this is a major drawback for Xbox One or to say Microsoft is greedy and terrible ect. This policy affects virtually no one, and the people who seem to be most vocal about it are the ones who would never use it in the first place. That is all I am saying.

I'm confused. Can you explain what your post means? I don't want to take it the wrong way.

I've bolded and underlined what I was trying to point out was the part which stood out as quite weird in yer back and forth there! I really don't think that even if someone was 100% a fan of one thing that would take from their ability anyways to join threads like this and say lol even if that had been the case, but here it clearly is not.

Ok :)

I thought you were talking about one of my past sigs. I was really confused!

How about that?  Hopefully with the paywall, psn will catch up.

Just saying though, some people have had better experiences on psn than xbox live.

You should stop doing that. It is kind of irrespectful and you are actually trying to put words in his mouth... If you think otherwise just reply and explain why imo, no need to didact what and how this guy should post :)

And frankly if you look at all your posts when you are stating something you are not adding any of these "my oppinion" or "in my experience"... Obviously when people are posting they are always posting things from their point of view and you should understand that without the need for everyone to add this obvious statement at the end of every sentence.

typical microsoft, putting everything behind the pay wall to make it seem like xbox live is worth the price. market cross party chat, online multiplayer, DVR recording, skype and tv apps or whatever and it seems like xbox live has tons of features and justify the asking price. but when really these features are free every where else. and really people only get Xbox live to play online. at least sony justifies the price of PS+ with the free games

Not surprising of Microsoft. At least they get a constant livestream of you for free courtesy of Kinect.

Does game recording require playstation plus on PS4?

We don't know yet.

The recording feature records the last five minutes of gameplay on Xbox Live. The PS4 records fifteen minutes.

The question was : do we know if it will require Playstation Network+ or not? (or it is just an assumption because Sony did not officialy stated it?).

Thats up in the air for me. If its online its tied to PSN Plus but I dont know because theres other games Sony allows everyone to play online without plus for free.

No, recording is a hardware based. And shouldn't be charged.
