You know something funny though? Much like the Wii U, the PS4 only has 3 major exclusives at launch (Knack, DriveClub, and Killzone.) and nobody is saying a single thing about the PS4 having no games. So what gives? The argument makes no sense.

The PS4 day one will have half as many exclusives the Wii U after 9 months has had, the multiplats wont be late or inferior, and they certainly aren't going to have a 7 month drought. I agree with everything else though. Wii U has games, but they just aren't of a high enough quality to justify spending $350. This will be rectified soon though.

Sony will have twenty first party exclusives in the first year. This pales the level of development efficiency Nintendo is offering up. They need to kick it into high gear.

Yet none of them are enough to justify a 350 dollar purchase.

And yet I am sure the 2 or 3 games available anywhere near launch is going to make 400-500 dollars purchase that much more justifiable... by the time PS4 and One comes out Wii U will have more games.. (Exclusives and otherwise and quite possibly for around 300 bucks..)

Back on topic.. I doubt it... it took to long for PS3.. to technically have games.. Wii U will have games in another year or so...

Nintendo Wii by generations...

1. Wii

2. Wii U

3. Wii O U

Predictions made by gamers concerning the current Nintendo line up of games.

Pikmen 3= Little Bump to nothing. (Got Little Bump)

Wind Waker HD= Won't sell anything (The explosion happened here and at one time 4 Wii U games was in the Amazon top 100)

Super Mario 3D World= Won't help at all looks cheap. (Currently the most sought after Wii U game and continuing the Wii U increase.)

It will take some time for people to grow accustomed to the Wii U having games to play, but I think it will get there in October or November. It has a few nice exclusives in those months, but more importantly, it has most of the major multiplatform releases in those months. Suddenly everyone who has a Wii U will be playing Donkey Kong, Wind Waker, Sonic, Wonderful 101, Scribblenauts, etc -- yet they'll also be able to hang with the people talking about Assassin's Creed IV, Watch_Dogs, COD Ghosts, Batman Arkham Origins (though not the multiplayer mode for some stupid reason), Rayman Legends, and others.

This is what I want. I want a new innovative proper Mario, in the vein of Mario 64. I want a new innovative, mature Zelda in the vein of OOT or MM. I want a new innovative Metroid game in the vein of MP1. I want a new innovative Star Fox in the vein of Star Fox 64. I want a new innovative F-Zero in the vein of F-Zero GX. I want to see a new innovative Mario Kart in the vein of MK64. I want to see a new Smash Bros. in the vein of Melee.

I wanna see innovation like we saw on the N64. I know they have it in them, but I wanna see it. Nintendo use to change the way we played games and blow us away, I wanna see that again. If you give me the titles above, and sprinkle in a few key third party games, I'll be happy.

I dont think its a matter of them not having it, but there are so many devs out their that are just pushing the envelope that even Ninty games could get lost in the shuffle. And i would say innovation for the sake of innovation is not really a good thing.

But, and I may be wrong, it just feels like they aren't trying anymore. If you look at Miyamoto's work, and the entire work of the EAD team in general during the N64 years, you see a team of devs obsessively driven towards the idea of innovating the way we play their core games at a software level, and games in general. I just don't get that feeling anymore. It feels like they've gone into cruise control or something and think the IP will sell itself.

I've recently been reading about on their history, software wise, from the birth of Donkey Kong up until the N64 and when you compare the kinds of things they invented, the way they invented them and how they were able to basically alter the entire industry time and again, with what they're doing now? It's night and day. I grew up with the NES era Nintendo, as I was 6 years old when it launched, so it's weird seeing such a dramatic drop off innovation wise. Sure, the next Zelda will be great, it always is. But will it innovate and change the way we view games like OOT? Or will it rest of the laurels of it's predecessors, offering nothing really substantially new?

I'm hoping it's the former.

This reminds of IGN's "Ninty is lazy and you dont care article" it got alot of hate but in hindsight they made alot of good points. Their are some series that i know they dont give a damn about, 2d Mario, they only make those cause they know they will sell. IMHO I think their recent successes have put them in a state of complacency, but maybe the Wii U will force them to try harder. Or maybe theyve been around so long they are getting jaded , and that creatively at least some of the games they make have reached their peak. IMHO the 2d Mario series peaked with number 3, and everything after is worst, still good but worst.

I wouldnt hold my breath on innovation, like I said, their are alot more players in the game than they were when they were dominating. Alot of those other guys and even some indies are innovating, and it doesnt help that Ninty seems to be stuck in their ways.
