Sounds like a good idea.
Also, contributing to extend the thread with comments for Kowen. :)
This is why I buy Xbox ( also Sony screwed me years ago). Online (Live) is what I play the most and that is what they do the best.

i always play on/with myself then muhaha
| kowenicki said: Good idea. You can tell it is, because it is an Xbox one thread on vgc that is bereft of responses. |
lol this thread isn't getting much attention. I need to make the title more controversial:
"MS/XBone forces gamers to constantly be in matchmaking service"
Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

This especially is why we need competition. Strong competition.

Generally I think MS really had and has very good ideas to bring something new to console-gaming and I also think it is just a start. Let's see what they will announce next!

This feature was already discussed during the release event and e3 how is it new feature? MS just telling you how good the xbox one and now people may listen because DRM is not an issue right now.
Have the xbox one preordered hopefully it turns out to be just as good as the 360 otherwise I will just use my 360.
| sethnintendo said: Nice idea but I wonder how it will all work. "Asynchronous match allows you to be [finding a new multiplayer instance] both in the game or while you’re doing something else — playing another game.” So I assume you can have two games booted at the same time or least have one game in a kind of "dumb" mode where it is just looking for matches while playing another game. Sounds like a semi decent amount of memory would be needed just to have this feature. |
All handled with cloud processing and one of the Xbox One's 3 OS's. Since 1 OS is entirely for storing/managing the instant switching of games and apps, I'm sure it will also be tied in with this. So I guess not much memory would be needed for this feature since it is built into the 1 OS and is cloud powered.
