So we all know the PS4 is launched in November before the end of the year. The PS4 I believe will sell 1 million systems in its first week of launch due to the unbelievable amount of hype, PS4 launching at an affordable price point and so many fans having waited years for the PS4 to arrive. I also believe the PS4 will sell one million console sales once or twice in December to close out the year and be only just behind the Wii U at the end of 2014.

The PS4 will be $100 cheaper than its rival the XBOx One and the PS4 is rumoured to be around twice as powerful as the XBOx One. The PS4 has a long list of exclusive game series and first/second developers working on bringing out the most advanced console games to the PS4. I have no idea how the Wii U and XBox One will be able to respond to the avalanche of PS4 sales and the huge success of the PS4. 

PS4 first week world wide sales breakdown: 

Europe/Others = 500k

NA = 400k

Japan = 100k

+/-10% to allow for error: first week ww sales in between 900k to 1.1million

I don't think so. And PS3/360 will be selling better than nextgen consoles during this xmas in us/europe, like ps2 rocked when 360/wii/ps3 launched.

I don't think it will sell that well, PS3 and 360 likely to get a price cut and get a lot of the sales.

@Meret You are correct PS2 rocked PS3 and 360 at their launches but Wii definitely rocked with PS2 when Wii launched. PS4/X1 will be rocked by 360/PS3 like they did WiiU as well.
@OP PS4 doesn't have a shot in hell at selling one million in a week twice at launch lol. Launch week will be hard enough with Killzone being your biggest exclusive lol. Did WiiU even pull it off? I think it barely pulled it off thanks to low launch in Europe. PS4 wont have to worry about Europe but it will need to worry about poor launch figures in US and definitely Japan. Again it can do it, it will just be difficult but twice lol, hell no.

The demand is certainly there, but that is a whole lot of PS4's. I would be surprised and a bit impressed if Sony could get 1 million units in the hands of consumers. That would be a great moment in logistic history.

I don't doubt it in the slightest. If Sony can make good on their word on an all PS4 Gamescom presentation, the PS4 hype train will go through the roof, and preorders will skyrocket.

7 years after the PS3 launch and one of the longest waits between generations and built up demand for the PS4 is increasing by the week. PS4 launching at an attractive $399 price point is not appealing enough for all the many dedicated Sony/Playstation brand loyalists or the middle/upper class family wanting to buy their kids the latest and greatest in console gaming technology for Xmas? The first sales week of the PS4 worldwide will be huge, 1 million is not out of reach.
