Forums - Gaming - How many multiple system owners are there and your feelings on the act of being a "fanboy" for whatever system?

Which Next-Gen systems are you going to buy?

PS4 73 25.80%

Xbox One 14 4.95%

Wii U 40 14.13%

PS4 and Xbox One 16 5.65%

PS4 and Wii U 84 29.68%

Xbox One and Wii U 11 3.89%

I Am Getting All Three! 26 9.19%

Sticking With Current-Gen 19 6.71%

Total:283

I am just curious about how many of us will have all three systems once the PS4 and Xbox One are released. I myself will have all three on release date. If you are only sticking with one system this coming gen, what are your reasons for this? Also I was curious as to how many people on the forums felt about being a "fanboy" of a company? My opinion is that we are all hear because we have a passion for gaming and when the industry or fans polarize themselves they are missing out on some amazing games that they could have enjoyed just to "stay loyal" to a company or a system that is apart of something much bigger than itself.

What drives me crazy the most are the people that are hoping one or the other of these companies fall. I on the other hand believe that there is a place for everything and I hope that there is always three companies or more. It is all about two things choice and competition. We get the freedom to choose which system get our hard earned cash (and in my case and I hope it becomes the status quo) we can get all the systems and enjoy all the entertainment that these developers work so hard to create. And the competition is what drives us to have better products and better services that lead all around to a better experience.

Any thoughts??

I doubt I'll have all 3. I may only stick with Wii U. It all comes down to budget, though. If I had all the money to spend on games, I would have it all.

It's all about the games. Already got a WiiU. Buying Xbox One at launch. Likely a PS4 next year. But then again they may announce something at gamescon pushing me to buy it this year as well.

It is well known that I hate fanwars.  It is one thing to have a preferred console, but many are complete jerks about it and take a "hobby" too far.

I have a WiiU, I plan on getting a ps4/Xboxone but im really not sure yet. I dont get fanboys its really dumb.. maybe you can afford multiple consoles (theres NOTHING wrong with that) but when you hate another console just because you own the competitions one is really dumb. last gen i had All 3 but this just I plan on getting a gaming PC so ill just be getting 2 of the big 3...and i already have a WIiU

Honestly that is the reason I think many gamers pick sides is because they can't afford all systems, so to justify their choice they try to dismiss the importance and the greatness of the other choices. I understand it I just wish that more people would see the benefit of owning all the systems or at least the importance that competition plays in the industry.

That is exactly how I feel. This generation I will not miss a good game no matter what system it is on.

Xbox One pretty much only just for Halo, I don't really enjoy gaming on consoles anymore.

ps4 and wii u for me. cant live without there exclusives. xbone is a possibility late in the generation, depends on what games come out for it. really hoping for a Rare franchise reboot. Conker, Banjo Kazoothree, JFG

At the time being i'm getting just a WiiU and sticking to PC , because I'll be moving to Europe and I'll be saving as much as I can, Handheld games are going to be my priority, and so far I am not interested in a PS4 or an Xbox One, and I am a Sony fan (the company not Playstation) I dislike their gaming division recently minus Studio Japan.

I can't fault you for that. I myself love everything aboutC gaming except for the controls. Mouse and keyboard just don't do it for me. I have to have a joystick. And it sucks because there are some really good games that I want to play on PC. Arma II, Day Z, and League of Legends to name a few.
