Never ending story.^

I have heard this same GC sales things at least a thousand times.

As long as Nintendo makes money on it, then it is successful. Right now, they are not.

Sales are bad. I would like to see the next financial briefing though to see how much Pikmin 3 will help it.

We all have our own metrics for success but I think that's a weak one, unless it's absurd amounts of money, it clearly isn't going to be though.

Dunban67 says:

Do you seriously think Companies "simply don t want to support" the Wii U for no good reason but they DO want to support MSFT and Sony "for no good reason? How can anyone think that- They don t support the wii u because they either have or will lose money doing so to date- when and if they think it is worth their investment, then they will support it- that time may not come however- we will just have to wait and see-

Companies don t "simply" do or not do anything- they may not always make the right decisions but their decisions are based on a return on their investment

Yeah.

Otherwise how would you explain gimped versions of games and a bunch of market "test games" earlier? They are not entirely commited. When they are, you get stuff like Monster Hunter Tri. Good game, sold well. When you have no product, you can't sell product. There are exceptions, but that's the majority case. The "worth it" vs "not worth it" argument doesn't hold up well, given that the Wii U is quite easy to port to from the 360, as devs say.

Most recent example of a gimped version is the Wii U version of the new Batman AC game. Online for PS360, none for Wii U.

I just realize the Wii U doesn't even have next gen competition, things are getting darker.

If they make a comeback after this, I'll never doubt them again.

The problem is that even Nintendo themselves don't know what to use the tablet controller for. Why would make something if you can't think of anything interesting to use it for? With the Wii they came with Wii Sports right off the bad, with Wii-U they have.... well nothing.

This is bad, it sold less than 10k in 3 months in others and europe COMBINED.

lmao, its shipped, not sales. 2 different things, it sold more than 10k in Europe. It just had extra stock so retailers didn't need as much shipping these 3 months. Next time think before you say

While you're right, it's still no good. It means stock is going out quite slowly.

Wii U Sales Are Really, Really Bad

It's no secret that the Wii U is struggling. However, the extent of which the console is struggling might surprise you.
According to Nintendo, between April 1 and June 30 of this year, the Wii U sold 160,000 units. Those are global sales figures. Over three months. Ouch.
Simple math tells us that the Wii U is selling, on average, fifty-three thousand Wii U consoles each month since April. That's not very good!
Even the Wii outsold the Wii U, moving 210,000 units during the last three months. Software sales were better, with over a million games between sold worldwide.

For the time being, things for the Wii U, sadly, are not looking up. This past April, Nintendo reported that the Wii U only moved 390,000 consoles globally, which were well below expectations. These numbers are well below that.

The fault?

It's because of Nintendo initial failure of concept, NOT execution and NOT because of the lack of games which are just the result of the initial decisions.

And then because of desillusionned people (can't used the f*word in VGchartz) who still blindly support them and try to rationalize and find reasons why the Wii U is not selling....

I agree with this, the wii was the begining of nintendo downfall.
