My definition? Wii sales was close to dominating... the 3DS hardware sales was dominated most weeks in Japan this year... it is a pac-man graph and not below 30% (if you added all publishers I can't see Nintendo with more than 20%).

Well I looked up the actual definition

dominate - be larger in number, quantity, power, status or importance

This defines what Nintendo software is doing. Its sales are larger in number to any other publisher. When speaking of dominating u dont combine all the competition. Thats like saying that a world champion boxer who beats every challenger isnt dominant because he cant beat them all at the same time.

That's like saying 'oh yeah, Sony's Playstation business may be be doing fine, but only because of PS3, but that doesn't really count, so if you look just at Vita, it's obviously not doing good!!1!'

I still think it's silly to compare handhelds and consoles but whatever.

The 3DS has been doing amazing in Japan and all that without big new IPs like the DS had with games like Nintendogs or Brain Age.

Nintendo is dominating. If you think about it, the same people developing 3DS games is developing Wii U games. So, it is probably right to say NINTENDO IS DOMINATING. It is about just time for the Wii U to have some amazing games as the 3DS. Sales wise won't be enough to surpass the handheld, but it will add to the numbers.
