We already have like 10 million threads ala "Nintendo should sell Wii U's without the gamepad".

$250 without the tablet would be a ripoff considering it's $299 for the standard version. Wii U without the tablet would need to be $200 or less before I'd get it.

The interface looks easily adjustable to be able to navigate with a Wiimote, that's just a firmware patch.
How many games honestly don't work without the tablet controller? Zombi U, Game & Wario, Nintendo Land, yes, but the list kinda thins out after that.

Such a SKU could be $199.99 next year or so.
The standard version doesn't come with a game either.

Adjusting the interface to allow wii-mote navigation would mean removing the Wara Wara plaza, or placing it inside its own application which would need to be opened. And That would completely ruin the feel of the console.
Again. No.
Just no.

and those games are built around the idea to be "enhanced" by the gamepad, are they not?

No, I think you'd just have a button that lets you flip between the Wara Wara plaza on screen or the game menu.

"Enchanced" in the same way the N64 Rumble Pak "enhanced" certain games without being absolutely neccessary, sure.

then why include the tablet at all? why did they make it if its hurting the console more than helping it?

But people who bought this Wii U without the tablet wont know that the Wara Wara plaza exists.
Its presented plain and clear on the TV currently,
so either, you keep it on the TV and people have to press a button to flick the apps up on the tv - which is a bit convoluted
or You have the apps load up on screen and people will never look at Wara Wara plaza.
Either way it does not create a smooth console interface
