The interface looks easily adjustable to be able to navigate with a Wiimote, that's just a firmware patch.

How many games honestly don't work without the tablet controller? Zombi U, Game & Wario, Nintendo Land, yes, but the list kinda thins out after that.

Adjusting the interface to allow wii-mote navigation would mean removing the Wara Wara plaza, or placing it inside its own application which would need to be opened. And That would completely ruin the feel of the console.
