Sony will have to make PS4 in the next quarters without selling until launch.  That will generate losses even if they are temporary, won't it ?

Maybe he feels the losses will be low enough that PS3 profits will cover them.

its not loss per unit he is talking about. he means production, lets say every ps3 takes 300$ to make. next quarter they will make lets say produce 3M units, that will cost them 900M, they wont make any money back on them due to sony waiting on launch for them selling it, so its a temporary loss.

Wow its strange that profits in 2013 were so low. I guess the Vita is dragging down the profits. Is it possible to say that without the Vita, the PS3 would probably be making close to $1 bn a year?
