yeah well we are still waiting on oddworld to be that next halo AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA title coming straight from indie magic land.... sure indies are a great think tank for future ideas..... but he is full of hot air..... 99.9999999% is rehashed crap with a touch of artistic creativity..... not saying I don't like indie games but I'm still waiting on the ground breaking part..... then again there is so much crap in the indie world to dig through it's hard to see through....

When you say you're waiting for an indie title to be the next Halo do you mean to reach Halo's sales or it's critical acclaim? If it's the critical acclaim then I can assure you indie titles have already reached the "Halo status", some of them have even surpassed it.

The funny thing is if Microsoft does have a new policy in place these 2-3 idiots who are always in the news complaining about Microsoft won't even be in on it.

They have an announcement coming about it.

Yeah they do have an announcment. Probably last minute planning after seeing Sony's plan and receving massive backlash from fans. Or backlash from PS4 fanboys, however you see it.

Sigh...come on that post is just looking for trouble -_-

Just stating it how I see it.

both.... because they go in pairs.... having ah handfull of fanatics in a niche sector is not ground breaking..... I can pick 3 gurus in every village I go in.... doesn't make them true messiha....
As long as my sister (non gamer) hasn't heard about you, you're still a no name by my standard.....

not saying there isn't anything good in the indie world..... but Lanning is clearly stroking is own ego here....

but hey show me the light if I'm wrong (talking about, console indie here not on PC)

Meh, I don't really care much about indie games as a matter of fact the 360 had too many indie games.

yeah me too... at the beginning I was trying to at least try all of them.... I bought a couple... but it became fast a shit fest... heck they should have a voting system on consoles where games that get really bad reviews get excluded period and end up in a trash section.... especially if self publishing becomes a reality.... let the gamers decide truly what goes to the trash....

I am sure you see a lot of things a certain way pertaining to these topics.

I never understood the importance of indie games. I think the only ones I've owned we're castle crashers and minecraft, and didn't both play ball with ms anyway? Honestly don't think it will have any impact upon the sales or popularity of the console. I mean who the fuck buys consoles for indie games these days? The developers really need to stop being pretentious hipster douchebags and face it that big budget AAA titles tend to be more relevant for a console and its success, therefore Indie games really ain't that important for big corporations and console manufacturers, so blatantly some companies, like ms won't give two shits if the game is on their console or not, if it is, might as well maximise the profit from it.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

People who are still denying that there is a problem with the way Microsoft handles smaller developers really, seriously need to stop and think about this for a moment. It doesn't matter how much you like the company, how much you like Halo or Forza, if there is an area where they need to do some major improvements then you should just accept and acknowledge it--and this is such an area. It's crystal clear by this point that there is an issue that needs to be addressed. Simply denying it over and over is worse than meaningless.

I think what pisses me off the most, though, is how many people are attacking these developers over this, or even more mind-numbingly, attacking indie games in general. I mean, what the hell? There are thousands of quality games from small developers, some of them bordering on genius; thrashing around like a harpooned whale and attacking the entire genre is ridiculous.

A lot of these developers were even on Xbox first. Doesn't that tell you something? Doesn't that indicate that it's not fanboy pride or because "they can't sell"? We've seen well-known, critically-acclaimed developers stand up and tell us that Microsoft has lost a step to the competition. That's not something to get mad at the bloody DEVELOPERS about, it's something you should be asking Microsoft to fix.

And, for the record, I have little doubt that they will--eventually, anyway. They're smart guys, they know what they need to do. They just need to shift their focus away from the Activisions and EAs long enough to evaluate and refine their processes. It's for the good of Xbox and gaming in general that they right the ship as soon as possible. Why anyone would struggle against that I have NO idea.
