Where is the COD rumors coming from? 

No idea what Gaf and whatever say but you don't really have any hint that MS will have the advertising rights and I think Sony even had the rights to release the trailer one hour earlier. I mean, if Sony can release the trailer one hour earlier it should mean something.  

Not to forget that MS is like "first party is the way to spend the money on" now so that it's very possible that MS doesn't invest in these deals anymore (at least not if they are super expensive and CoD deals are exactly that). 

I think Sony got it and yes, even if I don't care about CoD and even if I think MS wasted too much money for some third party marketing deals in the past I think it would be a must to have the marketing rights for the first CoD where CoD fans have to buy a current gen console for (if this will be the case). It will sell a huge amount of consoles and if people think that Halo is on XBO so that it would be more logical to buy an XBO for CoD fans, most CoD fans don't care about Halo...
