Hmmm, I've heard some bad things about The Evil Within, from what I've heard the game design is just frustratingly difficult, poor checkpoint placement coupled with a random enemy who can spawn in anytime, anywhere and instakill you, including when you're stuck climbing a ladder. It's apparently very old school survival horror, much like the original Resident Evil games. Not sure that's for me.

Honestly, and not to criticise game reviewers (because, all things considered, at the end a review is fundamentally based on that player's view), I think a lot of things in TEW got blown out of proportion. I know I'm extremely biased about it, as it became one of my favourite games, but still.

For example, the game design...if we're talking about the dungeon design, it is not made to make any sense at all, except that it is very videogame-ish. Every chapter is strikingly different from each other because it tries to follow a Mario route, where every world changes. Context about this is given, and it's all part of the plot, but it mostly serves as an excuse to keep throwing variety at the player. In one chapter you're running through a Victorian Mansion, then on the next one youre battling enemies at a highway.

Poor checkpoint placement could be a point if we were talking about the game's highest difficulty, on which Sebastian - the main character - dies from one hit. Thing is, this difficulty is only unlocked once you've beaten the game, so really, there's no poor placement of checkpoints in easier difficulties. In fact, the game is very generous with those.

That random enemy you're talking about is an special circumstance, again, in Chapter 9. There's, indeed, an enemy that spawns arbitrary and can one hit kill Sebastian, but he does not last long and he gives you some room (at first) to try and evade him. Once you beat Chapter 9, you never meet this enemy ever again, nor he spawns anymore.

Horror games are for pansies and youtubers. Actually pretty much horror anything sucks. Bores the living daylights out of me. They only got 2 moves....either ugly shit is jumping at you every 20 seconds, or you're walking through small spaces for hours with nothing happening at all and then something ugly jumps out at you in much much longer intervals. Yawn

The only thing the horror genre is good for is making chicks cling to you like glue when you're watching a movie at night....but I mean you can accomplish that without a horror movie too so.....

Resident Evil is garbage... sorry Wright

If only we could kill all the tasteless people in this world, it would be a better place!

I played Resident Evil 4,5 and the remake of 1. 4 and 5 have nothing to do with horror. Even the first game can't be considered a horror game. You can call a survival because of the low ammunition.

If you want to play a horror game, try Outlast.

Res 1 was certainly a horror game for me :s..

res 4 normally aswell but they decreased the horror element remember the prototype:

Frankie commented on the November date in the video

The November thing is literally just dumb garbage from the file. Somebody actually flagged it as an error in December last year and somehow the version with it in still made it out there.

Halo 5's release date will be announced later this year and won't be particularly surprising one way or another. You can assume it will be some time between the end of summer and at least a minute before New Year's eve, but as god is my judge, the November string is just an error and an error made by someone who not only didn't know the release date of the game, but certainly wasn't even thinking about it.

Good, then there's still some hope of a September release. Make it so MS!

Ya I'm really hoping for a September release as well. November has battlefront and cod, not to mention possibly the division and assassins. Plus any other ones I'm missing.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Figured I'll post this eventhough I knew everything. lol

After playing Ori, I realized I need more platformers on the One.

That's the genre that is lacking the most IMO... JRPGs too xD

Really hope we get more platformers. Would love another Rayman game, or a 3D platformer.
