People starting to see spencer true colors, nice!

I won't be as attacked for disliking him now.

Yes I agree with you its great I realized it but lets hope he is able to win us back during e3.

I mean he is trying so hard to win PC market if does same for Japan and China he must able to do something for them.

Anything positive out of it and I will be surprised already.

1 year got 12 months, but we are putting hopes on 1 day, something is wrong with this logic.

I agree. The question is how focussed are they on Windows vs Xbox? I think a 1 year of being a console exclusive would be a fair compromise.

I could see Halo 5 and Gears 4 staying Xbox One exclusives for a few years before they bring them to PC, they could even stay exclusives permanently. 1-2 years sounds likely for the rest. And then there will be some that are on both at release, such as Fable Legends and Gigantic.

My biggest question right now is just how many PC devs will make their games available on Xbox One through Windows 10's universal aps. I'd love to see typical PC exclusives such as MMO's, MOBA's, and RTS games make it to Xbox One with both mouse and keyboard and controller support. If MS could make that happen I'd be completely ok with this shared philosophy since my Xbox One is more powerful than my PC right now.

Great, now I want Guild Wars 2 with controller support. I believe that Xbox One will get a lot more indie/B games as a result. I guess I see what was revealed as a net-positive. That being said, I don't want to play console titles with a mouse and keyboard, one of the reasons I buy console titles over PC titles is that I love that I can play on a controller conftorably in my living room without giving mouse/keyboards users the advantage.

I really want to see Battletoads 2. I hope a good teaser on the E3, that game is intriguin me.

Great part would be gamers might not even need to buy Xbox One to play it since looking at current situation you will be able to buy it  on PC.

I would be glad to play it without spending 350$, but it would be a very bad idea, xbo need this as exclusive, it can be very cool, there are tons of fans of the first battletoad (mostly nintendo fans) that would take a serious look to xbo imo.

Microsoft is more focused on gaming than ever. Follow X360 in 2010-2013 and they were terrible and kinect focused. So not going to lie. Little tired of hearing about this and Phil Spencer who has revived the XB brand

Noooo don't tease me with Battletoads

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

You know I get what you're saying Tiago, and I feel for you that the games you want don't currently seem to be coming to your system of choice, and you'd have been right in the past for blaming the head of MSG for that, but it really doesn't apply anymore if you ask me.

These current gen consoles are pretty much PCs as far as their architecture is concerned, and as a result porting a game from any one platform to another is ridiculously easy. With that being the case, it's simply a matter of Japanese developers choosing to say "fuck Xbox and potential fans on that system." It would cost them peanuts to port over their game, so little that they would make it back even if that version sold barely anything. MS shouldn't have to go out and give them all money just to make the logical business decision and expand their potential customer base.

I get that.

but if spencer truly cared he would go after, at least, the big games.

I was looking at his Twitter a couple of days ago, to see who he follows. Some industry people, first party studios, Sony, Sony studios (even the order one), and some jp guys that are working on Xbox games (I remember them all, so few..) swery, kamiya and the mega man guy.. That's it. If the head dislikes jp games so much why would the jp dev care about Xbox?

If I was a jp dev, I would think:

"meh, spencer doesn't like our games, let's just ignore them."

On the other hand, he follows and goes after indie games, indie games... Seriously? He goes out of his way to get indie games available on ps platforms, he follows mediocre Sony studios. He must be a spy.

I agree about the porting cost. I don't understand why they're ignoring Xbox One, it's free sales.

I think a big contributer is the outdated parity clause. If indie games can be ported in DX12 in one day, I expect that we will see a lot more PS4/Xbox One simultaneous release titles as a result. I still believe that Microsoft's parity clause needs to go. As far as Eastern games, there is a lot more to publishing costs than developement costs. It still might not be worth it financially.

As far as I know the parity clause applies solely to the devs that get free dev kits through the ID@Xbox program so it should only affect indie devs. Anybody bigger than that isn't at all affected by it, besides that if the game is remotely popular Microsoft would make an exception anyways.

By the time they make an exception it might as well be considered a timed exclusive for their competitor. Developers shouldn't have to resort to that.

I might be the only one against the parity clause, but I really believe it hurts the Xbox One.

Anyone like taking game screenshots on their Xbox One? I may have just the thread for you guys!

IMO thinking about consoles as those closed boxes just isn't going to work anymore in 5 years. It seems Microsoft gets this message and is ahead of the competition. They are transforming Xbox into a service available on every MSFT device, I think this is a good thing. You'll still be able to buy that easy console form factor but there are other choice. I think some people need to get along with the future because this will be how it looks like ( same like Sony will expand PSnow to more non playstation devices and offering newer games etc)
