Evidence and testimony indicates that Martin likely circled back and confronted, then attacked Zimmerman (4 minutes in between losing Martin to being attacked, the attack took place closer to Zimmerman's truck than where he was earlier, indicating he was headed toward the truck, the only person with evidence of landing blows was Trayvon, Eyewitness seing Trayvon on top 'Ground and pound, MMA style), though it is impossible to be sure. It's not illegal to follow somebody, there's no legal requirement to obey a civilian 911 operator, and he was carrying a legally registered firearm, for which he had a concealed carry permit (while the guy in New York used an unregistered, illegal gun). Any more tinfoil hat theories? |
I really wish I were in person with these types of people. Its hard to debate online. Out of all the people I have talked to about this only 3 thought he was guilty. 1 is my mom and I cant even bring it up in front of her (she punched me in the balls when I was talking about Jeantel's testimony helping the defense) and she was convinced Zimmerman was guilty before anything more than news reported it. That's why I followed this case so closely because I kept telling her wait till facts come in. And 2 co-workers but I havent talked to them about it and one seems like he didn't even know what happened with what he was saying and his fall back was "but he shot someone"

Why would he stay on the line with 911 if he wanted to confront Martin, or even call them in the first place? I'm guessing that if you're setting out to do something illegal, you wouldn't call 911 to have the whole ordeal recorded for police, LOL! That makes no sense. His entire conversation was about TRACKING a 'suspicious person' until the police arrived. There was never any indication in that entire conversation that he intended to 'confront' anybody! Look at the facts, jack!

I don't know if I can say Zimmerman is guilty, but he's right where he said, "Zimmerman followed Martin in his car, called 911 who told him to stay in his car, ignored that advice, brought his gun out of his car.."
The rest has no evidence to back it up. We don't know who confronted who, so he's presuming there.
Fact: If Zimmerman would've listened to the dispatch, the kid would be alive and Zimmerman could've gone on with his life. The cops would've circled the community searching for suspects.

Any more tinfoil hat theories? EDIT: Morally, if Zimmerman was headed back to his truck and Trayvon sucker punched and jumped on top of him, Zimmerman is morally in the clear at that point. This scenario best fits with the entirity of the evidence and testimony. Again, there is absolutley zero evidence that his intent was to hurt anybody. If his intent was simply to defend himself against severe bodily harm or potential death, he is morally in the right at that moment. Stupid decisions are not the same as purposeful, morally 'bad' decisions. |

He was being asked "do you know which way he went" and if he wanted to confront him why did he call the cops? Why not just get out of his truck when he first saw Trayvon and confront him there? I don't think his intention was to confront him at all but keep tabs on him.

Fact: you don't know the details either. Dispatch never told him to not get out of the car. They suggested to not follow trayvon. Zimmerman said okay. The dispatch said police are on their way do you want them to meet you when they get there. Zimmerman said yes have them call me so I can tell them where Im at

Are you saying that Zimmerman stayed on the line with the police even after he got out of the car? I don't think that's true.
So I ask again, why do you think Zimmerman got out of his car? I think that he did it in order to confront Martin. (And, to clarify, by "confront," I don't mean "shoot" or "fight.")

If you listen to Trayvon's earwitness testimony and the recording from dispatch, he was in medium to close proximity to Trayvon when he was driving, to the point where Trayvon became cognisent and alerted his friend to the fact that he was being tailed. Outside of that we don't know what happened for sure until the fight was already initiated in slight parts where some say they saw Trayvon on top and some saw Zimmerman on top. The woman who could've been the only witness to the fight ran in the house to call 911.

Wow! So, you never even listened to the call? Why are you even here? I'm guessing you didn't even follow the trial or check out the evidence. He got out of his car and was running, then the dispatcher told him 'we don't need you to follow him', to which Zimmerman said 'Okay'. After this he talks about how he doesn't know where this guy went, and they discuss that the officer should meet him at his truck (by the mailboxes where his truck was parked), they continue to talk, and Zimmerman sounds less winded at this point, so most likely not 'pursuing' or 'following' any more, so it sounds like he DID listen to the dispatcher about not pursuing. It sounds like he might be knocking on somebody's door near the end of the call (maybe to alert another neighbor about a suspicious person). The attack happens shortly after he gets off the 911 call, during most of which he can neither see, nor his he following Martin any more (you can't follow somebody you don't see). He says he was heading back to his truck (which evidence appears to suggest) when he was attacked in his statement, evidence also supports his story of being attacked, as does the eyewitness account. There is plenty of time during the call for Martin to get home (since Zimmerman is on the phone and has no idea where Martin went), but Martin instead seems to have doubled back to start a fight. Game, set, match... case closed. There was never a case against Zimmerman.
In the call, he describes martin as 'looking like he's on drugs or something'. Turns out he was correct, Martin had drugs in his system.
EDIT: Also, the attack happened almost immidiately after he got off the call, so not any time for Zimmerman to find, then start following Trayvon again. The sequence of events/timeline does STRONGLY suggest that Martin waited until he saw Zimmerman get off the phone before attacking him (making him the follower, or stalker at this point). None of the tinfoil hat theories are backed up by any of the evidence. Let's move on!
