You havent seen anyside bring it up because the trayvon supporters either didn't follow the case or want to sweep it under the rug. The zimmerman supports dont bring it up because its old news and the judge ruled trayvons previous incidents that showed that he was in fact troubled youth that would go up to someone and start a fight irrelevant.

The media does freak out with black on white crime. It is just different media.

You can bend the race anyway you want.  The case was just a weak case.   It was a loser pretty much anywhere.  You MIGHT get a conviction if it was a white kid and a black offender, but even then the odds would be against it... and it'd be a case of the jury getting it wrong based on the law.

If their is any societal takeaway from this, it's asking about how culture effects our deicision making.  If it was a white kid would he have made the same choices?

The one group of people who knew exactly how this would play out were trial lawyers.  (Which is why news networks often brought in out of state non/trial lawyers to comment on the case.)

It's information that's been out there for a while.  That said, it's fairly irrelevent.

Afterall, relying on the past bad acts of victims promotes the fallacy that crime can't happen to bad people... it makes people without a perfect record feel like they have to rely on theselves for "justice" leading to increased violence.

Whether Trayvon Martin was a thug,  a model student,  self tauht genius  or a member of Al Queda is meaningless.

All that matters is could the prosecution prove beyond a shadow of doubt their theory of the case.  Which, they couldn't even set out their theory of the case.  Hell their own witnesses stated it was Zimmerman screaming.

I dont think the drug use, gun or school problems were relevant. However, I think that he was in fights was relevant because it supports the defenses story that trayvon initiated the physical confrontation. But I guess the obvious fact Trayvon wasn't harmed other than the gun shot is enough to show that Trayvon most likely started it.

I feel like the people argueing this just haven't seen many fights....

A lot with fights has to do with mentallity.  Some people just freeze up and take a beating when hit.

I don't think this Zimmerman guy intended to kill anyone, I think he probably just panicked, but there's a reason police officers are trained to do that job, and not just some random dude off the street.

Whether or not Travyon was an angel or not is irrelevant, he was simply walking home, but basically the bottom line is a kid is dead when he shouldn't be.

Don't play police officer if you're not a freaking cop, especially towards random people on the street. Well intentioned or not, you're not trained for that situation, nor can you be identified as a officer of the law in case things get heated.

This Zimmerman guy is a freaking idiot IMO for disregarding the 911 dispatcher and thinking he was playing cops and robbers.
