Forums - Sony - VG247: PS4's architecture offers more customisation than PC, says Cerny

It was nice discussing with you, now lets stop this discussion please because you have different view point so we won't be able to agree on anything so its waste to discuss. Thanks

I agree. We could go on arguing forever, and both sides would find new arguments for their cause every time their previous argument was countered somehow, so let's stop here.

Although PC's are more powerful - they rely on brute strength and expensive.

Although the tech in ps4/xbone is similar to mid-range PC's because it's 1 "spec" dev's can get way more out of it.

Hell look at Last of Us - and then check the specs of the ps3.. Even 10 yo PC's are better. But because dev's don't need to cater for many config's they can get the most out of it - again PC's require a "generation" ahead to compensate for there inherent inefficiency.

And yet, if the last of us was on PC, it would look significantly better even on old non-Direct X 11 hardware.

Well I should hope so given the tech.

But it's all pointless PC vs console / console vs console blah blah.

I was a PC gamer for 15 years 100% but ps3 opened my eyes to new games and different ways of playing.

Now I consider myself a true gamer not barred to  1 format.

Oh and nice PC rig - if I had that rig or spent so much i'd probably ahem think consoles are weak $5000 vs $400 :)

Well. If I was only gaming then I wouldn't have spent so much (I also did not spend $5,000, but good try guessing!), $800 would have been fine.
Heck, an old 6 year old Core 2 Quad/Phenom x4 PC with a couple of upgrades that total for $200 would have been more than enough.

PC architecture is constantly changing, most of the custom features that they added will be available on PCs within the next year. With many different additions.

Also that title is incredibly twisted compared to what he actually said.
