they are going to both pull a wiiU.
| attaboy said: They'll have good games but i expect Wii U styled results. Both will take a big drop for most of 2014 with Xbox One taking the bigger drop. I just don't see the big leap that past gens have offered and most of my gaming friends don't either. This coming from a guy that owns EVERYTHING currently supported. |
No
PS4 will dominate from launch onwards imo

Xbone will only do well in USA and it will do worse than 360 obviously, but both will benefit from the migration from nintendo.

Hey Listen!
Currently sony has the most force world wide, as playstation 3 continues to sell very well everywhere, and the xbox 360 does well in the U.S and ok in europe, and dead everywhere else.....
Nintendo is just dead in the console department, and they aren't looking to change anything that would cause a reversal besides re launching mario games over and over again.

They'll have similar issues like the Wii U. A great, maybe even record-breaking launch with sales nearing DOA by Q2.
PS3/360 are still way too popular and Sony/MS will end up competing with themselves.
The launch should be great for both consoles and I hope it doesn't pull a wii u.

It will look like they are catching on quickly because they will be sold out regularly at first. This will really be due to manufacturing issues.

Hope doesn't cut it, Im afraid. I see very little that the vast majority would want from next gen, particularly with the likes of GTA, Ratchet and Clank and GT coming this year.
Also, yesterday I met with one of my friends when we played some Wii U. He was talking about picking up a PS4 launch day, trade in the PS3 and get Into The Nexus at the same time. When I told him that it was not BC, he went quiet for about a minute, then just said he'd pick one up next Christmas instead. This is the 3rd person to have said this to me, and these aren't real gamers. I think no BC is a real killer for a lot of people. They'd better hope that information doesn't get focused upon for the public.

Pikmin, W101, Zelda, Ubisoft's games, all Mario games of course
They will perform very well but a large dip is almost inevitable, new expensive hardware is not for the masses. The only system which avoided that is the wii but it was dirt cheap.
The PS4 has a couple things going for it which I think will get it to achieve 12m in its first 12 months.
-Superior versions of almost every 3rd party title from november onwards.
-Great 1st party line up, more to be annouced at gamescon. Infamous in Q1 will help maintain momentum.
-A high abundance of PC titles that won't be available on ps3/360.
