Basically every console in the past 10 years has gotten off to a slow start with Wii being the exception. DS, PSP, 360, PS3, 3DS, Vita, Wii U all got off to pretty slow starts for different reasons, will PS4 and One continue this trend? I personally think they will for a few reasons. The average consumer looking to buy a console could very likely choose the $200-300 PS3/360/Wii U in favor of $400-500 new consoles. Also PS360 has a user base of over 150 million and with a very large percentage of games being cross-gen alot of those people may simply stick to there older consoles for another year or two. Another reason is neither has a killer app exclusive that will cause tons of people to upgrade, Killzone, Infamous, Dead Rising, Ryse, etc look very good but there not series that sell huge. Overall im guessing they sill sell similar to PS360 in there first full year so PS4 about 8-10 million and One 6-8 million in 2014. I dont see them truly taking off until 2015 when they get there first price cut, PS360 support dies down and both have a strong line up of exclusives. |
I agree with everything and I think Xone will have a much harder time due to high price.
