Not really. I have a mostly rational though slightly irrational preference to PS platforms and PC, but I'm open to anything.
Do you believe this is the first step of the end of Console Wars or Fanboyism as a whole? | |||

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Same goes for a PS fan who happens to own a 360. They can claim they don't play it anymore, but doesn't change they bought one, it sits in their house, and IMO that undermines their credibility as a fan of another brand. |
Don't you think it's a problem when your forum life starts encroaching on your actual life?

Can't tell if your serious, because the irony is strong with this lol. You know console preference is subjective in nature and your very comment shows your own personal blind devotion. |
Wasn't serious. I made the comment to be funny. One of those, you see what you want to see things. Like I'm that much of a fanboy I completely missed the person saying the same things about the PS4 fans.
I am a Playstation fanboy though. I won't deny that. The post was just a joke.

Seems Nintendo is an exception to many core gamer circles. People are allowed to "grow out of them" but still have a special place in their heart reserved for Nintendo and the pleasant memories they brought growing up. Either way, I don't plan on switching and certainly don't plan on owning a second console or gaming PC.....completely undermines my position in the forums. I'd recommend getting a gaming PC. There's so much that you can't play on consoles that you can on PC.
Dragon Age Origins is on consoles but it's meant to be played on PC. There's games like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale, Might and Magic, Heroes of Might and Magic, Ultima, Total War, Warcraft, Age of Empires, Civilization, Syndicate, Sim City, Afterlife, and hundreds of other great games you'll miss out on.
The best thing about PC exclusives is that you only need one PC to play them all. You could build something just powerful enough to play all current and past gen games and never have to upgrade again there's so many quality exclusives. Through the use of illegal downloads and emulation you could play just about every PC to ever be made. Not saying that I promote piracy, but not all past titles are available for purchase on GOG. I'm just throwing that out there.
Interesting.
I dunno, I've defended various games and systems over the time, but I don't think I'm a blind fanboy, I have games on on consoles, and I've switched primary consoles between Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony, with only MS failing me. Also my favorite systems are the SNES and N64, which do get attacked now and then, and I don't really defend them. Everyone just has their own preferences.
Yea, no I don't think I'm a fanboy, I did recently tell someone a Wii U might not be for them, and I'm really excited about that console. I did tell someone to still consider a 360 if they are into JRPG's, but that's just because I love Lost Odyssey, and I'm the type of gamer who likes to own every good game.
I don't think I have low or high self esteem, but it's interesting to see this video. I would consider a lot of the crazier fanboys, especially those who get banned frequently, or perma-ban themselves, to have low self esteem.
Good post mate

Oh right, the question, will console wars end? It will probably get worse. Nintendo had dominion of video games in the late 80's, and since then there has just been more and more competition. Nowadays Sony and Microsoft release similarly powered systems, which share 90% of their games (Something unheard of in older generations because of differences in console specs and popularity). Plus with the effects of diminishing return, the graphical difference between consoles is less and less.
So as competition increases and increases, it's more likely that people will take sides. If it were just 2 consoles, and 1 handheld, it would be easy to own everything, but 3 consoles and 2 handhelds? That's $1,600 worth of systems, plus games, not exactly pocket change.

When did I say this? My gaming mentality doesn't enter my life when my computer is off. This forum helps my work day go by faster.
Just saying if your gonna be a fanboy, do it right.

"I don't plan on switching and certainly don't plan on owning a second console or gaming PC.....completely undermines my position in the forums" that's what I interpreted as meaning that.

No offense but I see a gaming PC as a crutch, like its a console fans way of saying "my console of choice isn't good enough by itself". Xbox has a great history of having Xbox/PC games so I personally have little need to own one.
I game on Nintendo handhelds and own a 4th gen Ipad, so I feel set
well i know im not a fanboy seeing as ive owned every Sony console and all Nintendo Consoles excluding NES,GCN and GBA. lets be honest though why do we care if somones a fanboy, its no different to how people have religious beliefs or political views
