People will defend why they have preferences or why they are bashing a company or product but it is only a company at the end of the day. Gaming has become an example of "The things you own ends up owning you."

Having preferences is ok of course. The problem is when people's preferences goes beyond just a hobby but a way of letting something define them on who they are.

Great saying, I have to edmit, I was sort of a hardcore Nintendo fan once, and look what it did to me. I bought a Wii U around launch and here I am, about 9 months in and I still have nothing to play on my Wii U. I had so much faith in Nintendo, my thoughts were clouded. I'm starting to feel like an idiot buying this thing too early, while Sony and Microsoft show off some impressive hardware and software. (Still not a fan of having to pay to play online or the kinect) but at least Xbox and Sony are trying to make gaming better for first and third parties. Not sure what Nintendo doing. (I love the 3DS btw)

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.

I think with time the WiiU will turn out to be a good product.  I also bought the WiiU at launch and have barely touched it but Im really looking forward to games like Smash Bros and Project X.  Even if the WiiU doesnt sell well i think i will still enjoy it personally.

I am not a console fanboy, but I see the value of consoles much much more than people who are PC gamers. I play games for games, not for consoles.

Yes I am. No shame in this. And its only going to get worse as a whole.

What I don't like is there is a dying breed of "pure blood" fanboys. Gamers who only stick to one console and one brand.

Nowadays you have fanboys who also own the rival console or a gaming PC. To me anyway, that strikes me as cheating or blasphemy.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

See. This video proved a point. Xbox One fans are in denial. PS4 is better.

I use to be, until Sony start charging for online

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

there's a lot of fanboys on this site, and a fricking huge amount of Sony fanboys at that

Can't tell if your serious, because the irony is strong with this lol.

You know console preference is subjective in nature and your very comment shows your own personal blind devotion.

Well said, sales2099.

About equally bad as multiconsole owners are those people who switch from one brand to another. They are traitorous swine and should never ever be taken seriously again. They are casuals, because they know no loyalty.

I personally embraced Nintendo until the end of Gamecube and switched to Xbox. But I still game on a DS and will buy a 3DS soon. Seems Nintendo is an exception to many core gamer circles. People are allowed to "grow out of them" but still have a special place in their heart reserved for Nintendo and the pleasant memories they brought growing up.

Either way, I don't plan on switching and certainly don't plan on owning a second console or gaming PC.....completely undermines my position in the forums. Same goes for a PS fan who happens to own a 360. They can claim they don't play it anymore, but doesn't change they bought one, it sits in their house, and IMO that undermines their credibility as a fan of another brand.
