Interesting.

I dunno, I've defended various games and systems over the time, but I don't think I'm a blind fanboy, I have games on on consoles, and I've switched primary consoles between Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony, with only MS failing me. Also my favorite systems are the SNES and N64, which do get attacked now and then, and I don't really defend them. Everyone just has their own preferences.

Yea, no I don't think I'm a fanboy, I did recently tell someone a Wii U might not be for them, and I'm really excited about that console. I did tell someone to still consider a 360 if they are into JRPG's, but that's just because I love Lost Odyssey, and I'm the type of gamer who likes to own every good game.

I don't think I have low or high self esteem, but it's interesting to see this video. I would consider a lot of the crazier fanboys, especially those who get banned frequently, or perma-ban themselves, to have low self esteem.

Good post mate

Oh right, the question, will console wars end? It will probably get worse. Nintendo had dominion of video games in the late 80's, and since then there has just been more and more competition. Nowadays Sony and Microsoft release similarly powered systems, which share 90% of their games (Something unheard of in older generations because of differences in console specs and popularity). Plus with the effects of diminishing return, the graphical difference between consoles is less and less.

So as competition increases and increases, it's more likely that people will take sides. If it were just 2 consoles, and 1 handheld, it would be easy to own everything, but 3 consoles and 2 handhelds? That's $1,600 worth of systems, plus games, not exactly pocket change.
