Or you could just, you know, renew your subscription.

Or wait to renew it until a game you're interested in becomes free for PS+
That's what I'm gonna do when my one month trial from GoW Saga runs out.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

What will happen to ps+ in the next years with PS3? I mean at some time the support for PS3 will fade so new games that get added will also fade out or it will only get old and/or crappy games but if you quit ps+ your games will also disappear. I think at some point it won't be worth the money but you have to pay to keep the games.
Are there any details how Sony will solve this?

The PS3 version of PSN+ will get good support. I mean the games you downloaded will still be in your histroy.

with no BC it wont matter. you wont be able to play them on ps4

There's lways gaikia lol...Or however you spell it

By it being one sub for all platforms, they will decrease the number of PS3 games and increase the number of PS4 ones or Vita ones if it magically becomes popular.

I know but what if you don't want to buy a PS4? Or a Vita (not that unprobably...)? The value for PS3 will decrease while the amount of money you have to spend will not decrease.

This isnt a PS+ issue its a platform issue in general. The PS3's value will diminish over time just like any other platform that is being phased out. Software support will slow down as well. Theres nothing Sony can do about it.

If the consumer is not willing to move on to PS4, PS5 or VITA etc. Then they can unsubscribe from PS+. Thats the trade off with PS+ free games...thats also what makes it possible that people can get all those free games for the price of one over a year period.

At the end of the day Sony cant just hand out free games...i dont think anyone expects them too really.

Edit: Not too mention how unfair it would be for those of us who are paying full price for the games. You need to look at what the actual goal of the PS+ service is.

stick with a wii u or pc and dont have to worry. plus if you go pc you can play games now for free that are coming late to ps4 with additional charges since you cannot do anything online without paying for..

Things like this are going to hurt sony in the long run. just too confusing for the average person, even sonys die hard dont even understand how it works. They think you get free games, you dont, you get what netflix members get. access as long as you pay. most wouldnt say netflix gives free movies but some how they think renting games means owning them... you cant access them without plus so they are not free

This is getting ridiculous man. Stop spreading misinformation that you've already been corrected on numerous times.

When you download something from PS+ a timer is attached, doesn't matter if you disconnect from the internet, that timer and license is stored on the PS3. When it expires, it expires.

As to playing PS+ offline, this is fine as long as your subscription has not expired.

I don't know what you mean by this. I have games installed that i got for free with PS Plus that i downloaded 2-3 years ago and they still work. Some even kept working for a while after my subscription expired.

No they didn't.  If you add days to a subscription while you have an existing one then games downloaded prior to the added days may say 'expired' when they reach the original date (before added days), but playing them again will make the display change to real days remaining.

If a subscription expires for real then it expires and no games will work.

Dead Nation, Tomb Raider and some others kept working while i wasn't a Plus member anymore. Also as long as i keep them installed everytime i sign up for PS Plus a few months the games work again.

You will. Google Gaikai.

Don't bother with him. It's not gonna help.  He's against Sony  It's in almost every one of his post I've read.   And now I'll wait for my reply in the thread and a PM from him saying he's not and blah blah blah.  Happened once before all ready.

OT:  Yeah like others have stated it won't work that way.  You have to subscribe again to play them.

To add to what KylieDog said... check on a PS plus game. If you click view details for that game it should show you an expiry date. That is created when you download the item. So online or offline, that specific item knows when it expires.

Give up. He won't listen. It's like his mission to make Playstation look bad. Even if the information is wrong.

You will. Google Gaikai.

You think your downloads will be playable via Gaikai? Did Sony confirm that?

I highly doubt publishers are okay with that. It doesn't benefit them.
