You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

If 1 game on Wii sells almost 80% of 1 game on the HD twins COMBINED, then how can you call Nintendo's marketing a flaw. I didn't see Sony market Ni No Kuni despite the excellent sales, but there are also other games that don't sell despite the marketing, but Sony doesn't get blamed for that (Sly4).  This proves a non-Nintendo published third party game can sell on Nintendo consoles.

Certain games actually DO sell pretty good on Nintendo consoles like JRPG's (Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, Kingdom Hearts). It has to be something that appeals to Nintendo gamers. Games like Skyrim/Wolvenstein and other boring shooters don't appeal to Nintendo gamers at all, it has to be unique. So don't rage again when Watch Dogs won't sell, this is already known.

- Skyrim is a boring shooter?  You mean I've sunk 150+ hours into the game and I was playing it wrong the whole time?!?

- Yeah, Nintendo gamers really love them some unique games... if by "unique" you mean anything with Mario, Zelda, Pokemon or Wii slapped on the title.

- Watch Dogs is also not a "boring shooter", in fact it is quite a unique game that just happens to feature shooting elements in it. On PS360 alone it will outsell the LTD sales of the Wii U's top games by the end of this year (NSMBU and Nintendo Land, which are the only two Wii U games to break a million thus far).  But because it's not a minigame-fest nor does it feature Nintendo's top mascots, the Wii U version will bomb hard.

Both of the bold statements reflect the thin ice both of you are standing on right now.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

At this moment, I am praying for the damn game to reach 500k!  I hope it does.

Right, so everything is just the same as six months ago.

           Sadly, yes.

#wonderful101 if you will join me.

We need like tons of forums for this kind of stuff.

If you don't want to do it and just post doom threads that's cool. This cool game will just die at retail.

Is not  my  job to market this game.

It is not your job to talk about the game in anyway but you are. Talking on forums if people have not figured out yet is advertisement for games. The more we talk about them we get other people excited for games. And game companies put ads in the forum post here so every post you are doing there job. So if you keep posting it is your job. Now spread the word about this game.

Again. Not my job. Besides  a small number of people  doing hashtags on Twitter is not gonna do a damn thing.

The more you go back and forth with me the more you do their job and are jobs as gamers on spreading the word. And if enough people get behind anything it can get big. Twitter is just an example of one way. And if people made this a threading topic for a week a lot more people would pay attention to this.

The problem is that if Nintendo put out a big marketing campaign for The Wonderful 101 people would still never have heard of the console it's coming for.

What are you talking about? even my grandma knows about the Wii, but i have to admit i'm still surprised they've been able to put those graphics on there, they're almost PS3 quality :O

True dat... the graphical upgrade you get when you attach the tablet controller to your Wii is amazing... puts SEGA's 32X to shame!

Becuase if it doesn't,  Nintendo loses money. They chose to publish it.

And if they advertise it and it still doesn't sell, then Nintendo loses even more money on the game.

Don't worry too much about this game. It doesn't need to sell a million copies to make money and no advertising in the world would push it past a million.

@bolded:  Maybe not, but I rather like Kamiya's idea to be honest.

Also, the trailers for this game kick ass because the game has so much charm.  They would really grab your attention as a TV ad if they just took the best parts from the trailers and made a commercial out of them.

Mario Galaxy, Wii_, Skyward Sword extremely unique content hardly seen before anywhere else

"in fact it is quite a unique game that just happens to feature shooting elements in it."

perhaps maybe just maybe, because the target audience is so wretched that they can't understand anything without blood and gunz, so in order to sell they are forced to put blood and gunz in almost everything.

Yeah, i think it's beacause nintendo invested a lot more (than SEGA did back in the day) and it's a more complete device but it's still just a tablet and $350 for a tablet that only works with your Wii is too much, it's like purchasing an entirely new console! what were they thinking!?
