this popcorn is getting stale

Given Sony brand loyalty outside NA, MS did a great job countering with a origional $200 lower price tag and being out over a year then PS3 in Europe. Great tactic.

Now that its $100 more and is releasing at the same time, i fell MS learned nothing from the whole thing. Sure itll win NA (maybe) but elsewhere will undo all progress they made last gen. Shame, hope they learn for the next time.

I doubt it simply because it has already been confirmed by M$ themselves how much of a weaker launch the system will have vs the PS4. Not only is it only launching in a select few countries this year, Microsoft has already said they will be shipping a lot fewer launch units then Sony, and the PS4 is still launching WW in pretty much every market. Not to mention most countries won't even have XBL support.

Not to mention, the system has weaker hardware, is putting way too much emphasis on Kinect, and M$ is relying way too heavily on gimics like the TV functions and the Cloud computing, whereas PS4 has the lower tag with more powerful hardware, and can also do the TV and Cloud computing funtions (Sony just doesn't toot their horn about because even they know that both are amazingly stupid).

I will say that M$ has been putting more emphasis on exclusives, but even you have said in the past that exclusives area only part of the console. Third party support plays a huge role, and they seem to be leaning a lot more towards Sony at the moment. Plus, the Wii-U has pretty much proven just how strong a console that relies almost 100% on 1st party exclusives can be...

XB1 may take UK, but even in the US, I think PS4 is winning in preorders, but who knows? XB1 may still edge out in both regions, but given Sony's semmingly much broader launch with PS4 this year, they have, in the least, a pretty heavy headstart. I agree though; both consoles should be able too pass Wii-U, barely breaking a sweat. There's just so much more attention around them. Even Vita is kicking the crap out of Wii-U lol

If i want to say to another poster that I believe something has not proven its worth, believe it or not, I am totally entitled too... just like the OP who believes (incorrectly or correctly) that the XboxOne will be the best selling console this generation. If you are unhappy that people don't agree with your point of view, I'm afraid that's really your problem, not mine.

Facts:

 - You are ignoring every "reasons" people are giving as why they are waiting for the Xbox One or find it innovative and keep "asking them" to PROVE their points. You know; we are not even targeting your PS4 by sharing that about the Xbox One; no need to get all defensive.

You are wrong about the point of my thread. I'm not saying that XBO is better, I just think it has a much better chance at winning than most people on here seem to think. I could easily be wrong, XBO could become the new Dreamcast and PS4 will outsell the PS2. The truth is nobody really knows. As for your question? You are correct my friend, I can't answer it. My OP is largely based on speculation that may or may not come true. I just believe that Microsoft will do some really odd stuff this gen that will pay off in the longrun. I even think that PS4 will do better in the beginning, just XBO will catch up. Remember illumiroom? I just have a feeling they are working on something new despite them changing their policies. Sony could be too though so we shall see!

Why are (most) new members on here so angry and mean all the time? They seem to think that their opinion is better than somebody else's. plus, they jump to conclusions by calling people names and assuming I'm a Microsoft "fanboy" or "jiggly puff" (?) Truth is, I just think that Microsoft has the potential to get a wider market completely different than what the Wii got. I owned a PS, PS2, PS3, N64, GC, Wii, GB, GBA, DS, PSP, 3DS, and a XB360. Thing is, I would say that the XB360 Is my least used out of them all. As of now I'm planning on buying a PS4 as my only console next gen. (might change) So if anything I'm a Nintendo/Sony fan...thanks for sharing though...I guess.

IF MS really does something interesting now that every system has Kinect, or pulls out some other unique ground breaking feature which changes the way we play games - then they may win but likely only barely.

I do argee that Sony is in a very poor position in that aside from some prettier visuals PS4 really offers nothing that PS3 doesn't already do. However, it has massive appeal with core gamers and MS has stumbled out of the gate with that market.

WiiU? Don't get me started... But I think Nintendo's next console to be released mid-gen will kick serious butt
