Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Fed Up With Inaccurate Reports In The Media

While it may affect Nintendo more so than some other developers/studios, you would be hard pressed to convince me that they are the only ones under the crosshairs of gaming journalism...
There's hardly any journalism happening in the industry anymore...

True, but Nintendo seems to be recieving more flak. I think that the "NIntendo won't be at E3" is probably what made Iwata flip the table.

Heh, I was gonna say this. Good thing I read the entire thread! The funny thing is Nintendo was more at E3 than anyone else, or rather they got people closer to it than any other.

It's not just them. There is no grand conspiracy among news outlets to destroy Nintendo, it's just them being lazy and pandering.

Remember the "confirmation" of COD:G Wii U a few weeks back that literally EVERYONE reported on? Or the accusations that Sony lied during their press conference because an anonymous source said so? Or the rumor that Microsoft's family plan was only an hour-long trial which persisted even after Microsoft representatives said it was untrue? Or the wave of negativity that flowed Microsoft's way based on the RUMOR their console would be always-online? At least that last one was justified, because Microsoft was deaf enough to ignore the negativity being hurled their way, but the rumor took on a life of its own long before Nintendo officially gave it birth.

And people act like this is always one-way. Remember the ABSURD level of coverage that came about because of rumors about Retro at E3? Or how Nintendo only had to announce the EXISTENCE of a 3D Mario game to be shown at E3 for everyone to go crazy speculating?

This happens to everyone. Nintendo is not special in this regard.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

Nintendo by far gets the most criticism than the other two.  The media treats them completely different than the others.  Do you want me to post vids from GT's coverage of Nintendo.  It's ridiculous.

That'd be great, actually. I remember seeing the criticism of GT on Nintendo after I watched that segment, and I didn't understand what the issue was.

Maybe not vids, exactly, but what specifically they said that people had issue with.

Did you watch Geoff Keighley's interview with Reggie? It was brutal, especially compared to the softball questions he lodged at the others.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Well, it is true the media is very opinated towards nintendo.

Nintendo direct was a great move though. I prefer to have the information delivered to me first hand, than it going through the skewed media gatekeeping we see these days.

I agree that Nintendo Direct is a really good idea. But I would like if they'd make their presentation of it a little better.

It's understandable. That's what the Directs are for, no?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
