Sega VS Nintendo obviously. They both had their unique talents and weaknesses, and brought unique gaming libraries to the table.

Sony vs MS is a joke, their libraries are 99% similar, and so are their consoles.

I'm not that old, and I don't remeber the Sega Vs Nintendo era, because we were all nintendo.

Not even close. Nintendo Vs Sega was monumental. Plus there's no way the Genesis/SNES could be called the SD Twins as PS3/360 were called the HD twins. They share the same games library!

Back in the day even the 'same games' were different. Ninja Turtles for Genesis was different from Ninja Turtles on SNES. SF2, MK etc.

Unless you read a gaming magazine back in the day, or went to the few poorly made pixelized internet sites ( I actually really enjoyed the internet back then. Finding all the unknown gaming sites for new glitches for games) you really did not even know about the Sega/Nintendo war. Plus the internet was only around towards the end and was not that big yet.

I just knew that One console had blood, and the other did not, and that I owned a Snes. My Dad knew nothing about videogames, but always seemed to pick Nintendo products. Three generations in a row. Must have been their marketing.

Odd since MS and Sega are allies since XBLA gets (or got in the early years of 360) preferential treatment with old sega classics. That and Xbox came out after Sega pulled out.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

The Nintendo Sega war was madness. Sega challenged Nintendo's dominance to the point the Genesis and the Super NES were about even. This gen is nothing like that, the next gen won't be anything like that.

One moment I remember during the Sega-Nintendo rivalry dealt with the ports of the first Mortal Kombat. The SNES version looked better, but was censored (altered fatalities, and turned blood into sweat, although you could change it back to red with a cheat) due to Nintendo's "family friendly" policy at the time. The Sega Genesis, on the other hand, looked worse (particularly the colors), but you could play the game with blood and unaltered fatalities. Mortal Monday, lol, such a long time ago.
