Fallout World brings the hardest survival horror experience in Fallout 4
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/fallout-world-brings-the-hardest-survival-horror-experience-in-fallout-4/
The Fallout Anomaly Team has released Fallout World, formerly known as Fallout Anomaly, which aims to bring the hardest survival horror experience in Fallout 4. So, let’s see what this project is all about.
Fallout World is said to be the hardest survival experience available for Fallout 4. Designed for those seeking a gloomy, horror-infused nightmare where the environment is as lethal as the creatures within it, Fallen World is its own unique vision of a collapsed Commonwealth. It is the definitive destination for those seeking the ultimate challenge in atmospheric horror survival.
Powered by MAIM, True Damage, and Scourge, the combat will be fast, visceral, and deadly. The team has crafted its own bespoke balance settings based on these core mods to ensure a perfectly tuned tactical experience. This means that players will bleed, they will break bones, and they will need to bandage themselves in the heat of battle. Every engagement promises to be a tactical puzzle where positioning and resource management will mean the difference between life and a reload screen.
Almost every player action, from walking to reloading, can now be heard by enemies. Inspired by Escape from Tarkov, searching loot containers now takes time. As such, you’ll have to clear rooms before scavenging. This system aims to add a new layer of tension to the Commonwealth.
And that’s not all. The team has completely removed the vanilla perk system in favor of the S7 Skyrim-style leveling system. Your skills will improve naturally as you use them, providing a much deeper RPG progression. Fallout World also has comprehensive hunger, thirst, fatigue, and illness systems.
Finally, Fallen World includes a bespoke weather system built on Polluted Climates. This system aims to overhaul the lighting and weather to create a cohesive atmosphere that complements the hardcore gameplay.
All in all, this is a really cool mod that can completely change the way you experience Fallout 4. So, if you want some extra challenge, Fallout World is the mod to use. You can go ahead and download it from this link.

Star Wars Mod Brings 50 Star Systems and 1,100+ Worlds to Starfield
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/star-wars-mod-brings-50-star-systems-and-1100-worlds-to-starfield/
Star Wars and Starfield fans, here is something really cool for you today. Modder ‘Rock44’ has released a new mod that brings 50 new star systems, 200+ new planets, and 900+ new moons from Star Wars to Starfield.
Going into more details, this mod creates a brand new galaxy that contains all of the major and familiar planets from Star Wars. This is a resource mod designed to be used as a master for upcoming mods that will build out quests, POI’s, and locations on these planets. It also includes creatures from Star Wars spread across the planets.
According to the modder, this mod is compatible with the Star Wars Resources – NPCs and Props and Star Wars Resources – Weapons and Armors mods. However, I’m not 100% sure whether it works with Star Wars Genesis.
Before closing, I should note that you can land on most of the planets. However, there are a few planets that are not explorable, and you cannot land on them as they are still WIP. The modder has listed those planets on its NexusMods page, so I won’t list them.

Everyone knows Wolfenstein 3D made the FPS a phenomenon. What this mod presupposes is… what if it didn't?
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/everyone-knows-wolfenstein-3d-made-the-fps-a-phenomenon-what-this-mod-presupposes-is-what-if-it-didnt/
Where your average modder looks at a videogame and asks themselves "what could I add to this experience," Isowulf creator LoGeKyl approached the classic Wolfenstein 3D with a slightly different perspective: "What if this was an entirely different, and worse, game entirely?"
I say "worse" not to diminish the quality of LoGeKyl's work in the slightest, but because the pitch—"A faithful re-creation of the original Wolfenstein 3D… but viewed from an isometric perspective" makes me imagine an alternate version of the '90s where id Software followed up the 2D Commander Keen platformers with some sort of top-down puzzle-action game that was a lot closer to the original 1980s Castle Wolfenstein. Without putting the "3D" in Wolf3D, would id have ever made Doom, giving us the gift of the first-person shooter? Surely not!
With that pessimistic prognosticating out of the way, I have to say LoGeKyl's mod is still quite cool, especially as it was directly inspired by his love for the early days of id Software. "What made Wolfenstein 3D special to me was that it was one of the first times I realized that people made games," he writes on Isowulf's ModDB page. "The credits were right there: John Carmack, John Romero, Adrian Carmack, and Tom Hall. (Wait—aren’t these the same names I saw on Commander Keen!?) From that moment on, making games was all I ever wanted to do."
LoGeKyl writes that he listens to audiobook versions of Masters of Doom or Romero's autobiography Doom Guy whenever he's getting ready to start a new project, and for this one he wanted to explore how well Wolfenstein 3D's design would work in another form, with the camera pulled out and tilted to make a sort of shooter-Diablo.
"As it turns out, John Romero and Tom Hall’s original design still holds up, even from a completely different perspective. I figured I’d have to tweak movement speeds, enemy AI, maybe switch from hit-scan to projectiles—but nope. It all just works."
His only addition, graphics-wise, was a sprite of B.J. Blazkowicz, since the first-person game naturally didn't include one beyond his character portrait. While the mod debuted about six months ago, it's been updated to include all of the original game's episodes, saving and loading, and rebindable keys.
If we hurled Isowulf backwards in time and it swapped places with the original Wolfenstein 3D, I do wonder if the FPS—like life—would, uh, still find a way. Perhaps it would've taken a little longer. But if Isowulf had basically done Diablo before Diablo… maybe Blizzard North would've gone and invented the first real-time first-person shooter instead? Frag a while, and listen.

Playground Games Confirms Forza Horizon 6 PC Leak Came From a Reviewer, an Influencer, or an Insider
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/playground-games-confirms-forza-horizon-6-pc-leak-came-from-a-reviewer-an-influencer-or-an-insider/
A PC version of Forza Horizon 6 was leaked yesterday. At the time, we assumed this happened because someone from Steam published the game early on Steam. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Instead, Playground Games has confirmed that the leaker was a reviewer, an influencer, or an industry insider.
>> The devs have started banning anyone playing the leaked game (link).

Path of Exile 2's 1.0 release won't need to accommodate other game releases, director says—except GTA 6: 'That's a Goliath I don't want to take on quite frankly'

Path of Exile director Jonathan Rogers says he's never worried that much about the timing of other game releases—particularly other seasonal action RPGs—when it comes to scheduling major updates for his own game. But this year, Path of Exile 2's 1.0 release will likely be within a few weeks of the one game that has him reconsidering this approach: Grand Theft Auto 6.
In an interview with PoE co-creator and former Grinding Gear Games director Chris Wilson, Rogers said the timing of other game releases isn't usually a concern, "and honestly the community would slay us if they thought that we were delaying things just because some other game had a thing coming out."

Steam's most-wishlisted game is out this week following a year of corporate drama that involved one of the most embarrassing ChatGPT uses on record

The studio in question is Unknown Worlds, and the game is survival adventure Subnautica 2, which is out in early access this week—and still looks primed to hit whatever revenue goal will trigger that big payout, which is back on the table after a judge slapped an UNO Reverse Card on Krafton's plans. The publisher announced today that Subnautica 2 has been wishlisted over 5 million times on Steam.

World of Warcraft 'Classic Plus', a version of the old MMO with modern updates, might actually be real as Blizzard hosts secret event with popular streamers

Ever since Blizzard released World of Warcraft Classic (and maybe even before), players have been begging for it to take a version of the old MMO and experiment with it. This proposed "WoW Classic Plus" wouldn't follow the timeline of updates the original MMO did, but veer off in a new direction as if it were a modern game—much like Old School Runescape.
With no major WoW Classic releases announced, WoW Classic Plus believers are convinced their time is almost here. Blizzard recently invited a bunch of well known WoW Classic creators to California for something none of them can talk about until an NDA is lifted. As far as I can tell, this hasn't happened before and is, at the very least, compelling evidence that Blizzard is working on something that isn't just another expansion re-release.

Yeah, pretty bizarre, having full 2048 shaders like 9060XT, especially if those rumored clocks are true, since it pits it at pretty much the same TFLOPS as 9060. I can really figure how that would be cheaper than 9060, which most likely uses silicon that was not good enough for 9060XT.

At this point I'm thinking it must be a false rumor - 1024 shaders would make much more sense for 9050.

Either that, or a lower memory bandwidth by using cheaper memory chips with lower clock speeds (like GDDR5 instead of GDDR6 for instance, or simply lower clocked chips), which probably would result in a lower price point than a binned chip right now.

Can they actually do that? Honest question, as I thought that AMD and Nvidia tuned the memory controller of their GPUs to work with one type of memory, kind of what happens with CPUs that, except for some cases, only work with one type of RAM.

Nvidia 50 series use GDDR7 all from 5060 to 5090 but the 5050 use cheaper GDDR6.

Not sure what the memory controller of the 9050 can do, so I just threw this in as a possibility.

I remember there was a gamers nexus video were they complained about the GT 1030 going from GDDR5 to DDR4 because the performance difference was big and they said it sould have been called GT 1020.

Here is that video

The GT 1030 case is well known, but it's an isolated case, not a norm. Usually all GPUs from a generation use the same kind of VRAM with the biggest difference being the speed of the modules.

That's why I wondered if it was still possible to use different kinds of memories without designing a new memory controller, or if it's something of the past.
