Haven't seen that one til now.

One I've played, Sheepy: A Short Adventure really surprised me...well not just me. My stepson, who likes that type of games, watched me play it, and he was "how's this a free game?". Truth be told, it's quite short, but I guess devs could've asked at least $5 for it. Maybe it's free promotion for something they have cooking, cause I'd definitely want to see something more from them in the future and I'm more than willing to pay for it.

It launched in 2024 so, if it's a promotion of something, it's well pst due. Plus their only other game on Steam is paid and launched earlier, in 2021.

I don't know, maybe they thought it was too short to charge for it, as too many people would complain about how short it was. Or worse, buy it, finish it, and then ask for a refund since it's below the 2 hour limit Steam has to refund a game. And so they decided to just make it free.

Maybe it's a bit of a byproduct of something else they're working on? Or maybe they're hoping to sell enough soundtrack copies to make some money? It'd be a curious strategy to hope to sell so many soundtracks though.

It would be a very unnexpected business strategy.

Hey, at least the've sold 22 of them, as those are the number of reviews on Steam.

Maybe...either way, I'm really interested to see if they have anything else cooking in the same genre, cause they've really nailed it.

I've searched the studio and... well, maybe Zkuq was onto something about the soundtrack, because all I see from them is about music. They even have a youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@MrSuicideSheep/videos

Well...that's quite unique way to promote your music - you "only" need to make Overwhelmingly Positive game and put it free on Steam

And here we are - first game that has in its minimum requirements frame-gen to achieve...wait for it...30fps

Hardware Unboxed goes on to (politely) rip a new one to both TT and nVidia...

To be fair, those aren't exactly steep minimum requirements by today's standards. That said, the other requirements seem kind of steep considering how the game is looking, so it's probably not too well optimized either... And it's a LEGO game - how powerful hardware can it even take to make a LEGO game look decent? Doesn't seem like ideal design either because of that. Some corners must've been cut.
