They're female presenting nipples. #freethenipple

Oh, of course! How could I be so insensitive? The first dude identifies as a woman, that's why they had to censor the nipples.

...

In any case, if the game gets popular, something doubtful at this point, the modders wil take care of it like they did in previous Saint Row games.

Depth of field is a pretty underrated feature of modern game visuals. It can really take a presentation to the next level:

That said, games ought to allow you to keep it off for gameplay but on for cutscenes for those who wanna split the diff.

I'll be interested to see what GTA VI looks in comparison to the Matrix demo.

I haven't seen it mentioned on this thread, but for those who use the DualSense controller on PC, you can now update the controllers firmware on your PC. Further showing how dedicated Sony is to PC :)

It will probably look worse... but with run about the same problems.

The question is: will it be fun to play? And I have to say, that I'm even more pessimistic about that.

That's great for those that bought one to use it on PC. But it also makes you wonder why the hell do I need to update the firmware of a controller?

Unreal Engine 5 Matrix City Sample PC Analysis: The Cost of Next-Gen Rendering

- Very CPU single thread limited
- 2060 Super able to get 30fps 4k TSR from 1080p Internal
- 2060 Super and 3080/3090 hardware lumen performs 7% slower than software lumen
- 6800XT hardware lumen performs 17% slower than software lumen
- 6800XT 3% slower than 3080 at 4k and at Epic settings, 6800XT is 10% slower than 3080 which is a reversal from UE5 Early Access demo where 6800XT was 10% ahead
- AMD Ray Tracing has glitches vs Nvidia so it's not 1:1 comparison
- PS5 either running sub 1080p or TSR mode is worse than on PC to help with the demo
- Console reduce motion blur resolution to quarter resolution
- Shadows on PS5 half resolution

I am surprised how CPU limited this demo really is vs GPU. Even a 2060 Super is able to get pretty good results all things considering where as the 3600 CPU is getting trashed but so are console CPUs. It seems that most of the CPU issues are coming from enabling hardware Ray Tracing as CPUs are currently doing BVH calculations along with being heavily single threaded. But I suspect by the time it ships, most of the issues will be ironed out.

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-ryzen-7-5800x3d-zen3-processor-with-3d-v-cache-is-now-available

I feel like UE5 is really going to show the limitations of older Zen 1/2 CPU's and Intel 10th and 11th gen CPU's very rapidly.

Core clocks and cache is what this engine will love...

We need to remember that UE5 wasn't designed and built around Hardware Ray Tracing either, Lumen was originally a software-only ray tracing engine and the engine reflects that.

Seems the 5800X3D flew off shelves here, didn't even get a look in. Not that I would buy only an 8 core CPU anyway...

The Radeon 6400 has 75% of the hardware as the 6500XT, but half the power consumption, 25% lower price.
If you need a half height, low-powered GPU for a SFF or HTPC, it's not bad... But it's also no better value-for-dollar wise than the 6500XT... The video decode is likely the biggest screw up for that market, would be better off with a Polaris derived GPU.

I do agree with Zen 1000/2000, maybe a bit less with 10th/11th gen. Performance wise, a 2700X performs around where PS5 is performing where as 10th and 11th gen is well ahead. But neither can do 60fps and 12th gen is the only CPU that gets close. Even 5000 series falls below 60fps but granted no one tested the 5800X3D yet.

We will have to see how it all performs once a real game ships with all their optimizations but yea, I think zen 1000/2000 won't age very well where as zen3000/10th/11th gen will age better but not quite as well as 5000 series/12th gen.

Sekiro gets a 6GB Mod, adding more world decoration and NPC wars
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/sekiro-gets-a-6gb-mod-adding-more-world-decoration-and-npc-wars/
Modder ‘Nick’ has released a pretty cool mod for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. This mod is 6GB in size, aiming to decorate the world and add NPC wars that begin to take place all over Ashina when the first invasions begin.
According to the modder, locations leading to Ashina castle will be more heavily guarded. Small to large scale NPC battles begin showing up in the Outskirts, at the castle, and castle gate fortress once the first invasion begins.
Additionally, this mod shakes up enemy placements from vanilla. It also makes Senpou Temple’s distant model 100% spatially accurate and viewable from more places.
Lastly, it’s worth noting that the mod adds secret grapple points for traversal.

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/this-half-life-2-episode-two-mod-aims-to-bring-back-hl2-beta-maps/
BogdanNikola and a team of modders is currently working on Half-Life Remnants, a mod for Half-Life 2: Episode Two that aims to bring back HL2’s beta maps.
Although there isn’t any ETA on when this mod will come out, the team has released a new dev diary for it. As it claimed, the older maps of Half-Life Remnants have either gotten a small or total revamp in the visual or gameplay department.

This mod turns Elden Ring into a seamless co-op adventure
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/this-mod-turns-elden-ring-into-a-seamless-co-op-adventure/
My experiences trying to play Elden Ring with real-life friends have been as arduous as my journey to the Erdtree. Just as I think I'm getting closer I fall into a ravine, or discover that there's a whole new land between me and my goal. Such is the struggle of getting co-op working that I wonder if all those disconnects, invasions, summon signs failing to appear, and inability to ride horses or fast-travel together are part of the game's grand message on the necessity of suffering.
Well I say 'hooey' to all that and let me play LukeYui's mod instead, which turns Elden Ring into a seamless co-op game (thanks, PCGamesN). The mod, which is still a work-in-progress, claims to remove "all multiplayer boundaries and allows for connections to persist after death.”

Friday news, part two:

Sega quietly updates its bewildering Sonic Origins DLC chart
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/sega-quietly-updates-its-bewildering-sonic-origins-dlc-chart/
It feels like only yesterday that we reported on Sega's apparent plans to 'aggressively monetise' its future games (when in fact it was two days ago). It seems we didn't have to wait long for this plan to kick into action, as yesterday Sega put out a perplexing DLC chart for the upcoming Sonic Origins collection—which contains remastered versions of Sonic The Hedgehog 1,2, 3 & Knuckles and Sonic CD.
There was quite a bit of backlash to the chart, which showed various content locked off bizarre stuff like menu animations, letterbox background and most egregiously "hard missions" behind paid DLC. That's still the case, but at least now the chart is clearer and shows that the Start Dash Pack comes bundled as free DLC with preorders of the game.
>> It's still shitty, but now it's bull-sized sh*t, not elephant-sized sh*t.

Elden Ring's poisoned panties problem is patched
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/elden-ring-psa-if-someone-drops-panties-in-your-game-dont-pick-them-up/
Quick heads-up: If someone pops into your Elden Ring game, drops a pair of skimpy skivvies on the ground, and then dips, do not—repeat, do not—pick them up. Multiple people are reporting in the Elden Ring subreddit that they have been banned from regular online play after claiming the discarded tighty-whities as their own.
Update: The tale of the troublesome tighty-whities is over, thanks to the big 1.04 patch that rolled out earlier this week. Among a great many other things, the update "fixed a bug that allowed unauthorized items to be passed to other players," which a Bandai Namco Entertainment rep confirmed in an email includes the Deathbed Smalls. It's "unauthorized" (you have to use a cheat to get the item into the game), and so while you can apparently still bring the Smalls into your own game if you want, you can no longer inflict it on others.

Halo Infinite gets a battle royale-like mode in Season 2 update
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/halo-infinite-gets-a-battle-royale-like-mode-in-season-2-update/
Halo Infinite is heading into Season 2 soon. A new Halo Waypoint https://www.halowaypoint.com/news/season-2-modes-preview" target="_blank">blog post reveals the changes that players are going to see when Season 2 launches in about two weeks, on May 3, and it's a mix of new and old.

Baldur's Gate 3 confirmed for release in 2023
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/baldurs-gate-3-confirmed-for-release-in-2023/
Larian has for some time now said that its "expectation" is that Baldur's Gate 3 will go from early access to full release sometime in 2023. Now it's official: In a new video released as part of today's D&D Direct event, the studio said the big RPG epic will be out next year.

Destiny 2 nerfs Arbalest, Renewal Grasps and St0mp-EE5 in what may be the longest balance post ever
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/destiny-2-nerfs-arbalest-renewal-grasps-and-st0mp-ee5-in-what-may-be-the-longest-balance-post-ever/
Bungie's weekly blog post about what's going on at the studio is essential reading for Destiny 2 players, so much so that numerous YouTube creators record themselves just reading the thing out. Tonight, they're in for a long shift, because the latest edition is a whopper. This week's instalment breaks down a slew of changes to the way airborne combat works, details substantial tweaks to incoming weapon flinch, and nerfs/buffs a bunch of weapon archetypes and specific exotics. It runs to almost 9,000 words and, in the parlance of the young people, is very much a juicer.

A new Tales from the Borderlands is coming this year
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/a-new-tales-from-the-borderlands-is-coming-this-year/
Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford revealed at PAX East today that a brand-new Tales from the Borderlands game is in development at Gearbox and will be out later this year.

Godzilla and King Kong are Call of Duty: Warzone's next operators
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/godzilla-and-king-kong-are-call-of-duty-warzones-next-operators/
Say what you will about Call of Duty's strange choices for crossover events over the last year, but somebody has to appeal to 45-year-old action movie dads. It looks like Warzone is kicking things up a notch this time: the real Nakatomi Plaza from Die Hard was cute, Rambo and Judge Dredd skins were neat, but what about mother-hecking Godzilla and their best friend King Kong?

Paradox says anyone can make a Vampire: The Masquerade game if they want to
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/paradox-says-anyone-can-make-a-vampire-the-masquerade-game-if-they-want-to/
If you've ever looked at the mess that is Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 and thought to yourself, "I could do better than that," here's your big chance to prove it. Paradox Interactive has launched a new indie publishing program called Unbound that allows independent developers to create games set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe, and to make money on them if they want.

Soulslike ARPG Achilles: Legends Untold hits Early Access soon
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/soulslike-arpg-achilles-legends-untold-hits-early-access-soon/
Achilles always was a moody sort, and you can kind of see why. The Greek demigod went through a bodged immortality ritual that left his now-famous heel exposed, and was then sent off to Centaur boarding school, where he was brought up to be a very effective but somewhat single-minded killing machine in the Trojan War (only to get struck down by an arrow from Orlando Bloom—ergh).

Two Point Campus reveals new magic course: Wizardry
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/two-point-campus-reveals-new-magic-course-wizardry/
Two Point Campus isn't your ordinary education sim. Though you'll be put to the test creating courses, campuses, and extra curricular activities for your students, they're not exactly the regular sort. In the hands-on preview we saw Scientography and Gastronomy, both unusual takes on regular studies. Now with a new reveal, Two Point Campus will eventually give you the opportunity to teach your students witchcraft and wizardry.
