As Blizzard slowly doles out more info about the upcoming Overwatch 2 beta, we're starting to hear about major hero reworks in the pipeline. Both Doomfist and Orisa will get major updates to their abilities to fit with the game’s new, 5v5 format, Blizzard detailed in a blog post published today.
Quake, the 26-year-old FPS, gets new accessibility options and maps

It's not often that 26-year-old videogames are updated, but it just happened for the great id Software shooter Quake. And it's a pretty substantial update, too, with a range of new accessibility options, fixes, and three new horde mode maps.
Long-running MMO Tera is closing in June
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/long-running-mmo-tera-is-closing-in-june/
The fantasy action-MMO Tera has been around for a very long time: We first wrote about it in a pre-release class preview all the way back in 2010. It didn't floor us when we reviewed it in 2012, although there were some real bright spots for players willing to stick with it, and it rolled through multiple expansions and upgrades in the years that followed, generally to a positive response.
But all good things must come to an end, and that includes Tera, which will be shuttered at the end of June.
Riot MMO producer vows not to ship the game if it's bad
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/riot-mmo-ship-2022/
In 2020, Riot Games confirmed that it's making an MMO when the project's executive producer, Greg Street, casually tweeted that he was heading up the project. That kind of low-key game announcement is a small trend right now—Blizzard recently soft announced a survival game—but it also turns out that Street is just a pretty unguarded tweeter. Case in point: Riot's PR department would probably not want to say, unprompted, that the studio's big MMO isn't guaranteed to release, but that's something Street tweeted in early April.
In a series of follow-up posts today, Street said that his comment had been misinterpreted by "some players and media" to mean that development of the MMO was going poorly. In fact, "it is going great," Street says. When he said there was "no guarantee" it would come out, he meant it in the sense that nothing in life is guaranteed.

Hunt: Showdown is introducing its most disruptive new enemy in years
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/hunt-showdown-is-introducing-its-most-disruptive-new-enemy-in-years/
Major Hunt: Showdown updates like new maps and new bosses come out at the pace of a welly-clad hunter trudging through waist-high swamp water. So you could think that getting excited over an update that adds pistol-wielding zombies is just a result of Major Update Privation in the Hunt community, but it could actually the most disruptive new monster the game's introduced in years.

Australians can now legally purchase RimWorld once again, with the Australian Classification Board overturning its initial "Refused Classification" rating following an application review.
>> Let's hope this is the end of this soap opera.
Chernobylite gets free 'Enhanced Edition' update with ray-tracing and more
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/chernobylite-gets-free-enhanced-edition-update-with-ray-tracing-and-more/
When I reviewed Chernobylite, I found it to be a pretty enjoyable wander through the irradiated woodlands and dilapidated townscapes of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. It had an interesting approach to player choice and branching narratives, and the design and atmosphere of its relatively small but dense zones was spot-on.
The latest update to the game turns it into the 'Enhanced Edition,' bringing it in line with the newly released PS5 and Xbox Series versions. The Enhanced Edition adds ray-tracing and tessellation options, making those reflections more reflective and trees more realistic. When I used DLSS in the base game back in July last year, I found I got a good 30% boost to my framerate, so that should work very nicely in offsetting the extra strain put on your GPU by the new graphics enhancements.
Lost Ark gets a battle pass, new class and new continent in its April update

Lost Ark, Smilegate and Amazon's intensely popular MMOARPG, has had another growth spurt this month. The April update—live now—is a chunky one, introducing a new advanced class, the Glaivier, and a whole new continent, South Vern.
Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector DLC introduces 40k's best army
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/warhammer-40000-battlesector-dlc-introduces-40ks-best-army/
Look, the Space Marines are pretty cool, even if their whole space fascist schtick makes me feel a wee bit uncomfortable, but they're everywhere. I can't open a door without stepping on one of them (which suggests I really need to tidy up after I've played the tabletop game). A bit of change is always good, which is why the inclusion of the necrons in Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is excellent news.
