We knew it was happening—I mean, obviously it was happening—but now it's official: Rockstar has confirmed that a new Grand Theft Auto is coming.
"With the unprecedented longevity of GTAV, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series," the studio said in the latest Grand Theft Auto community update.
>> Ryuu96 has made a thread about this announcement.

It's about time. Can't wait to play it in 10 years!

I really dislike bundles that offer DLC without the game. I'm only missing 6 of those games (plus the DLC, but I don't have Fall Guys). I'll probably buy since it's for charity.

GeForce Now is what Stadia should have been.

I'm looking forward to play Squadron 42 on my RTX 9070.

Sounds accurate. By then you may be lucky and play the Beta, and not the Alpha, of the game.

Yeah, I don't get why they give DLCs for games that aren't in the bundle. Is that a sales trick to "force" you to buy the game given that you already have DLCs for it or is this as simple as the result of bad plannification.

And I don't see how they can make a deal with Bungie now that Sony has bought them. One thing's for sure, tho, Stadia has been a complete failure so far.

Don't be so anxious! Give them some time to find a way to do it.

Yeah, sounds like I'm gonna avoid DL2 until it gets more patches and I get a new GPU.

I got an internal Barracuda 8TB ST8000DM004 SMR for $169 CAD on BF. It's regular $249 I think. I know they're supposed to get pretty slow with rewrites, but it's just being used as a media storage drive, so that won't be a problem for a while, and shouldn't be too big a deal in the future once it's full anyway. It's pretty quiet, though makes a little noise when it spins up, and has been plenty fast so far. No idea as to longevity as I've only had it for a couple months, but the reviews looked mostly positive when I bought it.

The past 3 or 4 internal drives I've had over the last decade and longer have been Seagate and they've never failed. Only once did I receive a dud and that was right out of the box. I've had a few WD externals and the one that got used the least died after a few years.

Yea SMR hard drives aren't bad for the right price and if you are only backing up, they can last a long time.

Well not backup specific. I play my media from the drive as well, from 3 different sources at times and it never has an issue keeping up. Only get's a few degrees hotter than the 2TB Barracuda right above it and neither runs very hot under load. I use the WD externals as backup storage only.

Come to think of it, I wonder if splitting an SMR drive up into a bunch of partitions would be better if you're constantly rewriting. That way you could just wipe and reformat each partition, which should save from slow rewrites.

DF Retro: The Story of Nvidia GeForce 256 - The Original 'GPU' [Sponsored]

Now this isn't technically the first GPU but I'll quote a user from gaf as he has a good explanation:
At the time, these cards were called just graphics accelerators. We were still at a time when most games could run in software mode. But if you had a card like these, those certain graphic's functions would be accelerated. Hence the name. nVidia was the first to market the term GPU. Mind you this was not a technical term, just a marketing gimmick. But it stuck, and now all graphics cards are called GPUs. And nVidia defined that only cards that had T&L could be called GPUs. Once again, this was just a marketing gimmick to differentiate the Geforce from the competition. ATI tried to counter with the term VPU, Visual processing Unit. But it never caught on.

Good times! The yearly GPU improvements were awesome these days.

I got the DDR-model of the GeForce 256 back then.
