Farming Simulator 19 is getting its first big piece of DLC soon. If there's one thing I know about PC Gamer readers, it's that you lot love getting up at dawn to work your vast tracts of arable land with the latest combine harvester or some other piece of flashy farming machinery, probably. Good news, then, because the Anderson Group DLC comes with lots of new toys. Check out a few of them in the above trailer.
You can help EVE Online's developer test a 10,000-player battle in an experimental engine
https://www.pcgamer.com/you-can-help-eve-onlines-developer-test-a-10000-player-battle-in-an-experimental-engine/
In January of 2018, EVE Online set a Guinness World Record when 6,142 players fought in the biggest multiplayer battle ever. It should have been an amazing moment, but it turns out that having 6,000 people all fighting in one tiny section of space places a massive burden on the networking infrastructure of a game that was originally launched in 2003. EVE Online's enormous fights are unparalleled feats of cooperation and political scheming, but it's hard to appreciate that when you're stuck in a battle so crippled by lag that your ship is taking minutes to respond to inputs and disconnects are killing more people than lasers.
It's a glorious, frustrating, spectacular mess, and it's one that developer CCP Games is trying to fix. In a new dev blog, CEO Hilmar Pétursson revealed a partnership with a UK-based tech startup called Hadean that specializes in cloud-based computing. Using Hadean's proprietary engine, CCP is running a test in two weeks to see how it'll handle a battle with 10,000 players.

Here's a multiplayer deathmatch game where you play a customizable naked man and run around hurling spoonfuls of ramen to defeat your opponents. It's called Rawmen, a game by indie studio Animal that will be releasing on Steam Early Access sometime this year. It's like Splatoon but with lots more noodles, some of which are even edible.

BioWare confirms Anthem's starter rifle is way more powerful than it should be
https://www.pcgamer.com/players-discover-that-anthems-starter-rifle-is-more-powerful-than-everything-else/
Figuring out which weapon is the "best" is part of the fun in any new shooter, but the preferred piece in Anthem might not be the one you'd expect. After doing some clever experiments, redditor 'YeetLordSupreme' discovered that the numbers that indicate how much damage your shots do to enemies are seemingly meaningless. That means that while the first-level Defender Rifle apparently only hits for 200-something damage, it somehow kills enemies in far fewer shots than even the most powerful Masterwork-tier endgame weapons.
Update: BioWare has confirmed that the level-one Defender is hitting a whole lot harder than it's supposed to.
"I have confirmed with the team that this is in fact a bug related specifically to the default items on a loadout in combination with higher level gear you have equipped," global community lead Andrew Johnson explained. "It’s not functioning as intended and the team is working on it for an upcoming fix."
Valve blocks Rape Day from Steam
https://www.pcgamer.com/valve-blocks-rape-day-from-steam/
Valve will not distribute Rape Day, a disturbing pornographic visual novel in which players "verbally harass, kill, and rape women."
"Much of our policy around what we distribute is, and must be, reactionary—we simply have to wait and see what comes to us via Steam Direct," writes Valve's Erik Johnson in a statement. "We then have to make a judgement call about any risk it puts to Valve, our developer partners, or our customers. After significant fact-finding and discussion, we think 'Rape Day' poses unknown costs and risks and therefore won't be on Steam."
Anodyne 2 and the Wonderputt sequel will debut exclusively on Kartridge
https://www.pcgamer.com/anodyne-2-and-the-wonderputt-sequel-will-debut-exclusively-on-kartridge/
An awful lot of gamers have been unhappy over the Epic Games Store's recent acquisition of some pretty big exclusives, like Metro Exodus and The Division 2. But it's not the only online storefront making moves against Steam: Kartridge, the digital platform launched last year by Kongregate, will get four exclusive launches of its own later this year, including the sequel to the hit 2D RPG Anodyne.

H1Z1's third season arrived today, as well as a rebranding to Z1 Battle Royale, marking the third name change the game has undergone (originally, it was called H1Z1: King of the Kill). More than just the name has changed: a new developer, NantG, has taken the helm and is promising to revitalize the game by 'restoring' a number of its old features like animations, vehicle mechanics, guns and combat, and even the map itself to bring it back to "the glory days."

Made for the February 2019 Bitsy jam—theme: snails—the straightforwardly named Snail Detective is a surprisingly detailed and well-plotted murder mystery that just so happens to feature some escargot as its protagonist. If you're unfamiliar with development tool Bitsy, it's geared towards making top-down browser games focused on exploration and conversation, both of which feature heavily in this jazzy detective game.

Crashlands studio will release its next game on Steam Early Access in April
https://www.pcgamer.com/levelhead-from-the-makers-of-crashlands-debuts-on-steam-early-access-in-april/
Butterscotch Shenanigans developed a number of really good, really weird mobile games before moving onto the PC scene with the multiplatform, also-very-good Crashlands in 2016. In 2017 it announced a new project called Scuffle Buddies, and I honestly have no idea what happened with that. Its actual new game is called Levelhead, a "co-op level-building platformer" that's coming to Steam Early Access next month.
