For at least a couple weeks, an intentionally noxious game called Rape Day, which promised players the opportunity to "verbally harass, kill, and rape women," was listed on Steam as it awaited approval to be sold on the platform. After widespread criticism of the listing earlier this week, Valve announced that it would not host the game due to the "unknown costs and risks" it posed and removed the Steam page.
According to Gamesindustry.biz, Scottish National Party MP Hannah Bardell released a statement today calling for governmental review of Steam and other platforms.

Rod Humble, the former CEO of Second Life studio Linden Labs and, prior to that, an executive vice president and head of The Sims label at EA, will head up a new California-based studio for Paradox Interactive called Paradox Tectonic. The studio will lead development of a brand new game for Paradox, details of which—big surprise—will be announced later.
Cyberpunk 2077 development 'is far from over'
https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-development-is-far-from-over/
CD Projekt said a week ago that Cyberpunk 2077 will be at this year's E3—not terribly surprising, since it was at the previous E3 too, but it was nonetheless reassuring to have it confirmed. That naturally fueled expectations, including ours, that the game will be out either late this year or early next. But it's possible that might be a little optimistic, as a new PlayStation video says that there's still a lot of work to be done.

Blizzard has laid off 209 employees across its US-based offices, with the highest number of layoffs hitting IT and marketing departments. A recent Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing in California breaks down the jobs that have been cut as part of Activision-Blizzard’s eight percent employee reduction announced in February.

Ubisoft’s distribution deal with Epic Games on the sale of The Division 2 isn’t just keeping the upcoming game from Steam, it’s also going to prevent digital sales from third-party sites like Gamesplanet and Green Man Gaming once it launches March 15.
A ResetEra user spotted a notice on Gamesplanet’s store page for The Division 2 that announced that Uplay keys won’t be available after March 15.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 is adding free "gift bags" through the year
https://www.pcgamer.com/divinity-original-sin-2-is-adding-free-gift-bags-through-the-year/
Since it launched in 2017, the quite excellent Divinity: Original Sin 2 has seen a steady stream of updates and additional content added. While Larian founder Swen Vincke has said the studio is ready to “make new stuff,” Original Sin 2 owners can still expect to see additions to the game over the course of 2019.
Today, the first of several “Gift Bags” is getting released. Gift Bags are different from loot boxes, the studio points out, because loot boxes are hard and contain loot, while Gift Bags are soft and contain gifts. Those gifts include brand new character customization options, such as new faces, facial features, and hairstyles to use in your next campaign.
