Retro City Rampage follow-up Shakedown: Hawaii is due out this spring, and it's also joining the roster of Epic Games Store timed exclusives. Developer Vblank Entertainment has posted an accompanying overview trailer, showcasing the sort of not-quite-legal activities you'll be able to get up to as you try to build your entirely legitimate business empire. Check it out above.

Faith: Chapter II's free prelude offers unsettling retro horror
https://www.pcgamer.com/faith-chapter-iis-free-prelude-offers-unsettling-retro-horror/
The original Faith is one of the best horror games of recent years: a retro-styled, top-down adventure set in a creepy old house in the woods. Playing as a priest armed only with a crucifix, you had to banish several well-hidden spooks from the property, holding the cross up before you to repel the spirits, and keep them from tearing you apart. That same basic premise holds true for its recently released sequel, Faith: Chapter II, but, as with the original, there are plenty of genuinely frightening surprises along the way.

Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander studio Massive Damage is working on "a tactical strategy rogue-lite RPG" called Star Renegades. The intergalactic, inter-generational tale follows a rag-tag rebellion doing battle against an evil galactic empire: The empire is overwhelmingly powerful, but the rebels just won't quit.

Mars and his undead army arrive in Dota 2
https://www.pcgamer.com/mars-and-his-undead-army-arrive-in-dota-2/
We first got a heads up that Mars, god of war, would be joining Dota 2 back in August of last year. The day has come at last, and Big Red is here and playable right now.
"The warrior deity Mars thrives in the heart of strife, guarded by the bulk of a deadly shield as he skewers enemies with his legendary spear," reads his page on the Dota 2 site. "He revels in facing opponents in an arena ringed with loyal spearmen—who guarantee that no one escapes and that whatever odds he's facing, the god of war can dictate the terms of battle knowing the crowd is forever on his side."

Devil May Cry 5 cutscenes can be replaced with charming live action rehearsals
https://www.pcgamer.com/devil-may-cry-5-cutscenes-can-be-replaced-with-charming-live-action-rehearsals/
I have high hopes for Devil May Cry 5. Goths, ruin porn and sledgehammer-subtle industrial metal is a killer combination, and that's without mentioning the depth and fluidity of the series' combat. But a feature in the Deluxe Edition has me pretty excited, too: the ability to replace all in-game cutscenes with their live action rehearsal equivalents. In other words, these are "pre-viz" rehearsals, basically Capcom's way of envisioning a cutscene before it's created.

Evidence building that Apex Legends' next character is Octane
https://www.pcgamer.com/apex-legends-octane/
Over the last 24 hours, new rumors and unconfirmed leaks about the next Apex Legends character have circulated from multiple sources, supporting prior rumors and even pointing, maybe, to an imminent release of a new character called Octane and/or the first season, which we're expecting sometime in March. Although EA has not announced anything officially, let's lay out the information we have so far.
Update: A Daily Esports report points to a March 12 release date for the first Apex Legends Battle Pass, with the heavily rumoured Octane not only confirmed as real, but tipped to release "alongside the Battle Pass or just before it."

Wargroove update makes things faster and easier
https://www.pcgamer.com/wargroove-update-makes-things-faster-and-easier/
Wargroove should be quite a bit more welcoming when an update hits the cheery but tough turn-based romp today. It's not easy to save the kingdom of Cherrystone, but difficulty presets and a new, flexible checkpoint system should make the journey a bit less perilous if you choose.

Elite Dangerous isn't getting another major update until 2020
https://www.pcgamer.com/elite-dangerous-isnt-getting-another-major-update-until-2020/
Elite Dangerous' next major update will be the biggest one yet, promises developer Frontier, ushering in a new era for the space sim. Unfortunately, the size and scope means that it won't be appearing until the second half of 2020. The good news is that lots of smaller updates will keep the galaxy spinning in the meantime.

https://www.pcgamer.com/vivendi-has-sold-the-last-of-its-shares-in-ubisoft/
Vivendi has finished selling off its final shares in Ubisoft, completing the deal that was announced last year when the publisher avoided being taken over by the conglomerate. It once owned more than a quarter of the company. The remaining shares represented a 5.9 percent stake.
