GTA 5 After Hours SP mod lets you run nightclubs, play custom music in singleplayer
https://www.pcgamer.com/gta-5-after-hours-sp-mod-lets-you-run-nightclubs-play-custom-music-in-singleplayer/
Earlier this year, GTA Online's After Hours update added player-owned nightclubs, real-world superstar DJs, and banging tunes. Jedijosh920's After Hours SP mod, on the other hand, brings the experience to the crime sim's singleplayer mode. It even lets you upload and play custom music for your dedicated revellers.
As outlined in the footage below, players can select the decor and DJ within their clubs in real-time by activating a menu at reception. From what I gather, Jedijosh920's project does not let you promote your establishments in the same way GTA Online does, however it does let you play your own custom tunes.

Monster Hunter: World mod adds damage breakdowns for you and your team
https://www.pcgamer.com/monster-hunter-world-mod-adds-damage-breakdowns-for-you-and-your-team/
Monster Hunter is a social series designed to be played with friends. Monster Hunter: World is no exception, and even added new social elements in the form of post-hunt emblems highlighting what teammates contributed to the hunt—things like most monster parts broken, statuses applied, or slinger shots landed. One of the most coveted emblems is for most damage dealt, which I can only assume inspired modder muriEX to create this mod which not only tracks your overall damage, but also your DPS.
As muriEX explained on Nexus Mods, the DPS overlay mod "displays the damage breakdown and DPS of your current team." During a hunt, you can see how much damage you and your teammates are doing at any given moment. After a hunt, you can see how much damage you and your teammates dealt to the monster relative to its overall health, as well as your average DPS.

Fallout Miami mod details story beginnings and joinable Enclave faction
https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-miami-mod-details-story-beginnings-and-joinable-enclave-faction/
The Fallout Miami mod brings sun, sea and sand to the post-apocalypse. Its latest update explores its story beginnings, and one of its main joinable factions—The Enclave.
By following the tale of mod protagonist the Sole Survivor, Fallout Miami takes place in late 2287, ten years after the Battle of Raven Rock. The project's latest blog post explains that two years before the fall of Raven Rock, The Enclave sent a team to Miami Beach to establish a stronghold. Communications were ultimately lost, and thus begins The Enclave's involvement with the player in The Magic City.

Tuesday news, part two:

2K asks players to 'contact local government' about Belgian loot box ban
https://www.pcgamer.com/2k-asks-players-to-contact-local-government-about-belgian-loot-box-ban/
Now, publisher 2K has responded to the Belgian Gaming Commission's decision that loot boxes violate the country's gambling laws, with a number of changes to NBA 2K's in-game currency and purchases tied to its MyTeam packs. It has also asked NBA 2K players who reckon the publisher's practice now "comply with local laws" to "contact [their] local government representative to communicate [their] opinion."

>>Indeed. They have to thank their representatives to save them from such scam.

Enjoy 9 minutes of sneaky Sleeper hunting in a new GTFO gameplay video
https://www.pcgamer.com/watch-9-minutes-of-sneaky-sleeper-hunting-in-a-new-gtfo-gameplay-video/
GTFO is a multiplayer sci-fi horror game that looks a little (or maybe a lot) like Left 4 Dead smushed up with Aliens. Chris spent some time with it at E3 in June and it sounds potentially very good: He called it "a tense and creepy horror shooter that blends long periods of tense exploration and stealth with sudden freak-out bursts of chaotic gunplay."

Last week, developer Tetragon Works announced that it has merged with Brace Yourself Games, the creator of delightful musical dungeon crawler Crypt of the Necrodancer, which is also working on an industrial city sim called Industries of Titan. The pair announced the merger alongside the teaser trailer above.

The highlight of the event is 'Getaway', a limited time squad mode where teams will fight over four safes dropped at random across the map. Quake Champions is getting classic 'The Longest Yard' map this month
https://www.pcgamer.com/quake-champions-is-getting-classic-the-longest-yard-map-this-month/
Quake Champions is getting one of the series' best-known maps in this month's content update. Originally featured in Quake 3 Arena, 'The Longest Yard' (or Q3DM17 to the hardcore), is a jump-pad strewn obstacle course suspended in the sky. Expect to plunge to your death with regularity, unless you've been playing on the thing since it originally released 19 years ago.

Shakedown Hawaii, the Retro City Rampage follow-up, has a new gameplay trailer
https://www.pcgamer.com/shakedown-hawaii-the-retro-city-rampage-follow-up-has-a-new-gameplay-trailer/
Shakedown Hawaii, the Retro City Rampage follow-up, is a satirical swipe at white collar crime. Its latest trailer is a typical miscellany of weapons and speeding vehicles and explosions.
Billed as a standalone game—and "not Retro City Rampage 2"—Shakedown Hawaii parodies mega corporations and white collar crime. You fill the loafers of a dysfunctional and out of touch CEO, and you commit corporate and regular crime within a 16-bit city (against its forerunner's 8-bit aesthetic) that's brimming with sidequests.

Stunning sci-fi platformer Planet Alpha lands today, launch trailer launched
https://www.pcgamer.com/stunning-sci-fi-platformer-planet-alpha-lands-today-launch-trailer-launched/
Planet Alpha, the gorgeous sci-fi platformer from Team17 and Planet Alpha ApS, looks better every time I see it. Five years in the making, it's out later today.
Planet Alpha began life as a side project of one-time IO Interactive dev Adrian Lazar back in 2013. It's since grown into the above—filled with fast platforming, head-scratching puzzles, and stealth against its gorgeous art style.

Slow-burning sci-fi adventure HEVN gets slight delay (Updated)
https://www.pcgamer.com/slow-burning-sci-fi-adventure-hevn-out-next-month/
Joe enjoyed the two-hour demo he played of HEVN, a slow-paced sci-fi game about exploring the faraway planet of Naic, comparing it to both Soma and Event[0]. That was more than a year ago, just before its release was delayed indefinitely. Developer Miga has spent the past 12 months fiddling with "the game's mechanics, story, balancing and pacing, as well as the overall look and feel", and has now slapped a new release date on it: September 7.
Update: As Sam writes in our original story below, I enjoyed the early segment I played of sci-fi exploration game HEVN last year. After some internal back and forth, it was due to launch in full later this week—but has now been pushed back by just over two weeks.

https://www.pcgamer.com/microtransactions-are-an-unfortunate-reality-of-modern-gaming-says-2k/
Earlier this week, NBA 2K19 developer 2K asked players to "contact local government" about the Belgian loot box ban. Now, a senior producer at the company has told Trusted Reviews (via PCGamesN) that its games' Virtual Currency "is an unfortunate reality of modern gaming."

Parcitect has the right gameplay but it lacks the style TPW had. It's like a skeleton of TPW. I mean look at this!

Get Shadow Tactics, Torment, Oxenfree and more in the Humble Unity Bundle
https://www.pcgamer.com/get-shadow-tactics-torment-oxenfree-and-more-in-the-humble-unity-bundle/
The Humble Unity Bundle, featuring games built with the Unity game engine, is maybe not the most excitingly-named Humble Bundle of all time, but it's definitely one of the better packages to come along in a very long time. For $1, you'll get Oxenfree and Aer: Memories of Old, plus Inventory Pro, UFPS: Ultimate FPS, and FlowCanvas, which are not actually games but asset packs from the Unity Asset Store.
Things start to get interesting when you beat the average price, which is already over $10. That'll get you Wasteland 2 Director's Cut, The Final Station, Last Day of June, and three more Unity asset packs: Realistic Effects Pack 4, Ultimate Game Music Collection, and GameFlow.
At the top tier of $15 (and given how quickly the average price has climbed, you might as well just go right to the top) you'll also get Torment: Tides of Numenera, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, and four more Unity packs: Discover Unity Game Development – From Zero to 12 Games, uMMORPG, Heroic Fantasy Creatures Full Pack Vol. 1, Universal Sound FX, and Gaia.

SEGA removes Denuvo anti-tamper tech from Two Point Hospital
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/sega-removes-denuvo-anti-tamper-tech-from-two-point-hospital/
SEGA and Two Point Studios have released a new hotfix for Two Point Hospital that removes the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. Now this is a really clever move as the game has already been cracked. So instead of pissing its legitimate customers off, SEGA and Two Point Studios decided to do the most logical thing and remove Denuvo.
Alongside the removal of Denuvo, this hotfix fixes some crashes on boot, adds logging to help track down further crashes, fixes majority of load fail as well as various cases of bad data getting in to save files.

>>And the guys at DSOGaming have tested it and found no difference between both versions, except for initial loading times.

The Witcher 3 mod overhauls/fixes NPC physics for playing at 60FPS or higher framerates
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-witcher-3-mod-overhauls-fixes-npc-physics-for-playing-at-60fps-or-higher-framerates/
Modder ‘BlurredNotions’ has released a brand new mod for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that aims to overhaul/fix the NPC physics for those gaming at – or higher than – 60fps. So yeah, this is a must-have mod for those that were annoyed by the 30fps physics.
According to the modder, the physics on dangling objects on characters and enemies (such as hair, fur, necklaces, medallions, etc.) in The Witcher 3 only work correctly at 30fps. As such, this mod aims to fix this issue in order to provide smooth 60fps physics.

The expansion delivers a grim new tale of space justice, a new multiplayer mode, and most importantly of all, a game that's worth a second chance. There may be some bumps in the early going, as Bungie warned that sign-in queues may occur as a result of heavy demand, but community manager David "DeeJ" Dague said the support team is ready for it.

A squashed World of Warcraft bug rewarded some players with exorbitantly overpowered gear
https://www.pcgamer.com/a-squashed-world-of-warcraft-bug-rewarded-some-players-with-exorbitantly-overpowered-gear/
The first major update to World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth released today, opening up exciting new activities like the Uldir raid, extra-tough Mythic+ dungeons, a new PvP season, and massive 20-player Warfronts. It's an exciting time, but some players are more excited than others thanks to a short-lived bug that gave out some incredibly overpowered gear that would be impossible to earn through normal means. The potential for a serious imbalance in players' power levels is now so great that many are calling on Blizzard to roll back the servers to remove these items from existence.
Update: Embedded below, Blizzare said in a tweet that it will remove "all such unintended rewards" from players who received this gear.

Prison Architect adds 8-person multiplayer mode
https://www.pcgamer.com/prison-architect-adds-8-person-multiplayer-mode/
Prison Architect ranked 68th in this year's PC Gamer Top 100. I reckon it might climb higher still in 2019, because, three years after full release, it's launched a multiplayer mode.
Currently in alpha, the jail sim's multiplayer mode comes with its Update 16 and lets players build prisons alongside seven mates. In public or private games, the alpha offers a restricted version of the base game in order to let the devs "focus on getting the core functionality working."

To mark the end of its busy summer period, the crime sim offers players a $250,000 sign-in bonus this week, followed by an additional $150,000 every day till September 10. All told, seven days of sign-ins will net you $1.15 million—which will appear in your Maze Bank accounts no later than September 17, so says Rockstar.
