Wii

How can anybody seriously vote for anything besides for the Wii? It is based off of systems sold, that's it. Profit, game sales, longevity, and other things shouldn't even factor into it. Will the end of this past gen effect the Wii U? Maybe, but that doesn't matter to the gen in question.

Same thing applies to the PS3. You can't say "oh it failed because it sold way worse than PS1/2" That shouldn't be taken into account if the PS3 ends up outselling the Wii.

As for which publisher won? That would be an entirely different question and the answer would be Nintendo even if the PS3 outsells the Wii. Consoles win based off of sales, publishers are decided by game sales because that's where most of the profit comes from. Nintendo made tons off of Wii games. Once you factor in HH's, Nintendo completely dominated last gen without question.

The Wii, this should not be disputed at all as it sold the most hardware and software. Although, everyone was very successful this time.

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

If strictly by the common definition of "winning a generation" we mean has the biggest market share : the Wii

But in truth, Sony won this generation.

First and foremost it did better than the Xbox 360 by selling MORE in total, and selling more today, although it was release one year after the Xbox 360.

And compared to the Wii that was the cheapest in terms of consoles, softwares prices but also is not selling at all anymore and has a tarnished image because of the quickly obsolete hardware and fewer AAA games on the last years.

But the three console were excellent (Wii was the BEST concept and had great exclusives, Xbox 360 was great console that actually sold the most softwares), which is the HUGE difference with the coming-gen : the Wii U is a big pile of shit that WILL fail (and unfortunately fanboys won't accept it until it does completely) and the Xbox One has a very tarnished image and THREATENING approach to both video games, consumers and indie developers.

Nintendo hands down tore everyone a new one this gen.

MS is second, the Xbox brand is now a household name.

Sony is definitely last, they went from 1st place in the previous gen to last place (for the entire gen).

Has to be the wii.... for now.

I found disturbing the amount of people that say Wii, reluctantly, and then they had to mention something like "But in terms of [something else], this other console truly won, not the Wii".

wii did, tha casualz

idiots should stop making threads about who won the 7th gen.
