By sales the Wii was clearly victorious. Looking like winding up with Wii>>>>PS3>Xbox

By games, Metacritic (the only way to even begin to take opinion out of it, but far from infallible) indicates that the Xbox>PS3>>>>>Wii.

Brand transition from generation six Nintendo dominated, Microsoft did well and Sony got devastated.

Wii won, you can't deny it.
I know a lot of Sony fanboys will say PS3 won, or are hopeful/acting that they know the PS3 will outsell the Wii(which is extremely unlikely), but the PS3 was sold at a loss for a while and that hurt Sony big time, while every single Wii sold gave Nintendo a profit, they were litteraly at a point where Microsoft offered to buy them, but the Wii and DS gave Nintendo a shit ton of money to the point that that offer withered away

You're talking about financials. Nintendo made more money during the PS2/GC era than Sony did with the PS2.

Its not the best way to define, PS3 sold at very big price whereas Wii is very cheap so this doesn't make Wii is best console this gen. PS3 is the one which did great numbers even though it had such a very big price point from the beginning and also still its going very strong so this will dethrone Wii within two years. Don't forget that the lot of Wii's are collecting dust now becoz of lack of software support where PS3 is giving great Content so evaluate based on the content, support and how big the price differnence it had. Nintendo always wants to go with weaker hardware and cheap price to sell this Consoles and make profit from their First party titles other than this we won't see any support from them.

"Best" is subjective, market share is not. A generation is a fight for a market. Wii won that fight.

That is cool, I like hearing from other gamers too. FYI, the NES won the 3RD generation and not the 4th, that was the Snes :).

even though ps3 will pass wii in sales in the future

the 360 won because it has the best online gaming experience, was the first to introduce achievements, and first to release gen defying games early like gears, cod4, dead rising, the elder scrolls mass effect forza and condemned. it also got a good bulk if not all of sony 3rd party exclusives tjis gen aswell and 99% of the time having the superior version of a game including gen defying games like gta, cod skyrim and rdr
