Forums - Sales - Japanese Sales: Week 25, 2013 (Jun 17 - Jun 23) [TLoU 117K]

Great start for TLoU, but...PS3 is way down, below 10k for the first time maybe.

Vita rises for some reason, which is nice, but it's still pretty poor when you consider the price cut. Hopefully Toukiden can maintain this form.

Wii U continues to underperforman, but the only way is up...right?

The PS3 spent a long, long time below 10k before. I think its been sub-1k even, before the Slim. Ill have to check again.

Only in Japan: debut game sell 117k in the first week and hardware sales go down for the week.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

<Ninja deleted Famitsu numbers since Turkish put them in the OP and they were clogging up the page>

Really? Below 1k? Well either way, it hasn't been for a few years.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I am very happy I underestimated TLoU FW in Japan by over 30k :D
Shame it didn't help PS3 stay above the 10k mark but well, you can't have everything.

Good numbers for the Vita as well. Looks like it should hold that small but steady momentum. Also overtaking 360, yay :D every small achievement counts!

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

This fucking hunter game, man. Imagine a high quality successor.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Might be an ok number, but it still doesnt hold a candle to Resident Evil in Japan. It will likely pull similar numbers to Revelations PS3, but nowhere near the numbers of RE5/6 on PS3 and RE:Revelations on the 3DS.

For a western IP it is an amazing achievement.    If TLoU was created instead by Sony Japan or Capcom, it would have sold 500K-1M 1st week.

I checked now. 1,5k before Slim release!

Doesn't make me wrong.  It won't be anything like "great legs"

Depends on your definition of great legs and/or if you have realistic expectations of a new IP from a western developer launching on a console that's over 6 Years old.

I think this game will sell over 250k units in Japan lifetime, maybe push 300k. Would be great legs.

I was wrong, it was 1500 - http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/40055/Japan/

In 2009 it was below the 10k mark a lot. This might be the first time its dropped below 10k since the Slim, though. Im not sure.

Indeed. I do hate how irrational japanese can be sometimes just cause of nationality.
