some people actually worry about whats going to happen to them and think about stuff that will happen to them in the future and how it will effect them. crazy i know.

with apple i have the same problem but hey, you can jailbreak your phone. with google, amazing and steam you have other choices to choice from, if you are a PC gamer you can not JUST use steam, there are a billion other ways to get your games. on xbox you cant. same with amazon, there are millions of other places to buy stuff from. you can install apps from other than the app store on your andriod. 

lol I think there is a difference with opening a savings fund or RRSP for when you plan to move out or build your retirement fund......as opposed to worrying about which video game console you'll buy in the next 8 years

 Itunes doesn't let you buy from other stores on its devices. Who is to say the xbox one would not have been jail broken? What MS was doing was in direct response to consumers mass acception of these policies already from major companies, such as apple, google, and steam. With MS you would have been able to buy your games from a retail store also, not just through the online store, so there were still options. Honestly for what MS was trying to do they covered alot of bases, they still had discs for those who wanted to avoid downloads or not buy direct from ms. they kept the check in file small, and allowed for it to be done on cell phone hot spots. I think had they better communicated what they were doing it wouldn't have had the backlash it did.

I agree and stated this a few days ago.

I think MSony and quite possibly Nintendo will all be digital only next-gen.

I think you misinterpreted the meaning. I believe it is more an absolute, a reflection on the nature of the human mind. It is an affliction we all suffer from and can not remove ourselves from. Not a statement that we should be living in the moment, for in truth, removing concern of past and future is argueably a worse fate.

An all digital system does not scare me
I have owned an atari, nes, super nes, n64, playstation, ps2, xbox, xbox 360

the only one that still functions and I play is the xbox 360

however, a couple of my favorite games of all time are ff1/2 and romance of the three kingdoms 3

I play them when I feel like it on my pc or phone on an emulator...

eventually all hardware fails

most games are eventually available in another form

there is really little benefit for me to have physical copy of a game the knowing what I will use to play them will eventually fail

Read the second line and how we are never in the moment.  What you say is true but it is a continuation.  

I just think this quote actually completely contradicts a philosphy of living in the moment.
