Refusing to sign away my freedoms or let corporations penny-pinch me isn't selfishness, it's self-respect.

how are they penny-pinching you? If you dont like those kinds of games dont buy them. ITs that simple, and wanting them to stop being made becasue YOU dont like them is selfish.

Penny pinching as in charging for second hand copies or raising the prices of games. I never said I'd actively campaign to stop them being made or anything, I said I didn't care if they did stop making them. As for "If you dont like those kinds of games dont buy them" that's exactly what I intend to do.

oh ok, i missed understood but i dont know how we got into 2nd hand copies and raising prices, i was never for that.

if only MS's messaging was more clear, but even if this went through sales in central Europe, Africa, South America, and wherever has so-so internet would make Xbox sales suffer on a global scale.

I personally could have dealt with the restrictions, but I didn't like how it would limit their global potential .

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

The guy in the OP talked about having to make sacrifices, and raising gme prices and blocking used game sales are two methods I've heard suggested as the kind of "sacrifices" we might have to make to fund more and more expensive game development.

Besides the DRM issue now being abandoned, XBox One will cost $100 more than the PS4. The XBox One will be around half as powerful as the cheaper PS4. The PS4 exclusive games looked far more impressive than the XBox One exclusive games. Multi-platform games will look and perform about the same on PS4 and XBox One because it is is a lot cheaper and easier to port from the lower powered XBox One to the PS4 than it is to downscale the PS4 game to play on the XBox One.

Kinect + more complex chipset seem to be the culprit here; power isn't the only thing that costs money. ;)

Finally! A reasonable and sensible response from a Microsoft fan, instead of the "It won't effect me, so I don't care" answer I've seen so many times from certain people on these forums.
