Positive to say at least: MS is *not* anti-consumer, they listened to the crowd. I had no problem with their stuff but would also be ok with the same as 360 does.

No, they saw Sony's E3 and the preorders that followed.

@ OP

It's strange that they got rid of the 24 hr check-in, yet still require an online connection to first play your games, at all.  Also, will taking away the 24 hr check even matter if many of MS's games will require the power of the cloud to work?  That would still require an always online connection.  I'm guessing we're going to be seeing some One cases with "Internet Required" on them.

We'll also have to see if they address the Kinect required restriction, as that was a big negative for some, as well.  Of course, Sony still has them by $100 and is backed by the popularity of the PS brand WW.  So, while I think this will definitely help MS sell several million more units, I don't think it will be enough to beat Sony this gen.

They dont need to beat anyone, the xbox one will sell and make money for microsoft so they will win.

Ps4 will make money for sony so they will win.

Games that will require the cloud (which has only been one: Titan Fall) will probably just be optional. If you play while connected to the cloud you will have a better experience. The cloud will just be an option for games but some might require it like Titan Fall. I cant wait for my xbox one and for it to be connected 24/7 to my network. Titan Fall will be my fav MP game next gen :)

I had my pre-order before all this and it will stay there. Now thanks to all the sony fanboys we are all going back to the stone age of gaming. I really liked the family sharing feature but now its gone. Way to ruin a console for some of us that were excited. Back to the stone age like sony has always done it. I hope they add DRM later

Sony fans? If you want to hate somebody... hates the ridiculous low preorders numbers... MS actions is purely based on that.

low pre order numbers?

Thought you haters were also claming it was because of the downclocking of the GPU...

Again just another article started to bash the xbox one just like every other article/thread out there.

Back to the stone age it is. PS4: It only does Offline and Online in certain countries

TitanFall is a ONLY ONLINE MULTIPLAYER game... no single-player... no offline... it requires to be online to play.

I saw a lot of guys in VGC thinking it was because the game required the cloud to play but in fact it have no OFFLINE mode... on PC, 360 or Xbone.

i did say "connected 24/7 to my network"

I guess i am one of those with good internet that barley disconnects on me. My internet hasen't gone down in over 3 years so i am good. I will take advantage of the cloud and the 300,000 servers.

BTW...GT6 will be a failure lol

Forza 5 and Drive Club FTW!

If it hadn't been for that "vocal opposition" I'm pretty sure everyone can agree MS wouldn't have bothered to reverse their DRM policies.

From: http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/update

"Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold."

We had a chance to compromise for a better outcome, now we're stuck with a frankly outmoded way of gaming.

So they went from sharing with 10 people to none?  That seems a bit hasty.  Even Sony allows you to share with 1 other person.

@ ethomaz

Yea, I wasn't personally talking about Titanfall.  I meant like Forza 5, Sunset Overdrive and Dead Rising.  All 3 of them have been confirmed as having cloud processing and have single player modes.  Did MS announce the cloud portion would be optional, or will some games require an online connection?

If true, Microsoft fans should thank us Sony fans for fighting for their rights ;o

If you guys were really Sony fans you should have stayed quiet. It would have been best for Sony.

Even before MS already said every game can be played offline if your internet goes down... you only needs to do the checkin once time each 24 hours.

So the cloud was never required for offline play in Forza 5, Sunset Overdrive and Dead Rising.

MS says it is better with the cloud... not that you need the cloud.

If it's true then it's a victory for gamers.

The industry, EA, and Microsoft have all shown their true colours though.
