Forums - Sony - Sony need to do something with the Vita in U.S.

Vita first target range was college males between ages 18-25, but these people would choose a Ipad or phone before they choose a vita. Then it became ppl who wanted a PS360 experience on the go ... No, nobody wants console games on a handheld especially watered down versions that you own on said consoles. Currently its aimed at ppl who own a PS3. Why would anybody want ports from a system they already own?

SONY has done nothing to convince anybody but tech nerds that Vita is worth a purchase now or far into the future. Vita needs a identity. Bad.

It also needs Japan

you love your Vita? Shame! Even Sony don't care about it

Sony is gonna bundle it w/ the PS4 for $499. True story.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

It isnt surprising it is doing bad, go into a gamestop, best buy or any video game section and you would be lucky if they had two rows of games. Retailers simply arent supporting it.

It needs a price cut, more games, and reason for retailers to support it.

Only chance for Vita is PS4 and remote-play. If this doesn't convince consumers, it's done. Lke everyone said before release Vita's audience seems to be the one which play on mobiles and tablets - and they win by far, it seems.

It's got plenty of great games. The price is the only barrier for a lot of people. Sony needs to drop it to $180. If they keep at it, people will get impatient and just not even bother, even when it gets a price drop. Sony's going to kill the system themselves.

It's not like it doesn't have games coming out in the near future. Starting August there are a lot of games coming out for it. Come on Sony.  You're doing so well with the PS4.  Stupid being stupid fucks with the Vita.

I won't post a direct link here, but there was a piece from Kotaku last week during E3, written by Totilo. He said the PS Vita section of the Sony booth was enormous and full of fun, quirky-type games.

Only trouble is, Vita will only sell based on established franchise games, not indie games.

Apparently Sony is grappling with that reality right now. It seems like Vita is resigned to being a niche device for hardcore Sony fans, and nothing more. I'd love to be wrong two years from now, but things don't seem to be changing.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Remote play is not gonna convince anyone without good games.

The Vita has games, but it needs more exclusives. They would get a few if they managed to localised all those Japan only RPG's. I know shahid say he is gonna try, but its gonna be difficult to get partner support for those without some momentum going on the Vita with a price cut.

I am expecting that to happen when killzone mercenary drops. If they managed to confirm PSO2 for this year it would be great for the Vita.Next year we could finally see those localisation projects come to fruition and maybe be graced with some Tales of, FF type 0, God eater 2, Freedom wars, etc. Now add to that possible Sony west developed games and the Vita has a great year next year.

They really need to get those localisations going though. The Vita will be much richer with those games. Especially because here in the west we dont care that there isnt a monster hunter for it.
