I didn`t watch all of the vídeo - just two minutes or so - but i do get the point and where all of the recente prostest come from.
To be honest i had no idea it would cost Brasil (eu escrevo à português mesmo!) so much money. But, and i don`t know how Brasil is doing financially, but it seems that either there is money and it isn`t being used to develop the country or there isn`t and they made the mistake of paying too much.

Also, it`s not true that the money made by tourists will end up in the hands of who already have them. Local business is sure to flourish and not just hotels and restaurants.
In the end, this is an investment that is supposed to, at least on the long term, make Brasil na attractive place for tourists.

Should people`s health and education be taken care first? Of course. But that, by itself doesn`t invalidate na investment - too bad it seems to be out of proportions - given the cost.

like she said the gyu that sells icecream on the beach is going to have a great month, but that is not what we need right now. Brasil needs education and health.

It`s true that the big push on the economy will be temporarly, but tourism will increase with people that comeback and tell others how great it was. At least that`s what is expected.
What is not true is that example she gave. It will affect more people and on the long term, with all those tourists coming back and bringing in new ones, will also help the local business.

But that need wasn`t necessarily unfulfilled because of the cup. That need is older than the preparations for the cup.
It just happens that is still not being taken care of and they are spending too much money on this, when they could have had spent the same as others and spent the rest on education and health.

I remember hearing somewhere of stadiums that could be taken apart after the cup and be put together somewhere else. Don`t know if it`s true.

I'd love to share that video with my friends.

Is there a spanish subbed/dubbed version?

Same case with South Africa i guess. Money could have been used for other more important things.

In saying that...the world cup had a positive impact on our countries infrastructure and the profits of the world cup gets given back to the people through development, clubs and programs etc.

So this topic isn't as simple as what the video makes it out to be. There are pros and cons.

I'm buying tickets for two games... one in São Paulo and another in Rio de Janeiro.

I didn't choose the games and date when the sell started in August.

And I agree with the parts posted in the video but there are the positive things too... you can't say no to a event just because you hate the negatives things... you need to have to try to fix the negative things and enjoy the positive ones.
