Forums - Gaming - Do you still play your old games? How much replay value can a game have?

I still play Super Smash Bros Brawl, Kirby Air Ride, and some others. I have a decent backlog, so I'm trying not to play games I've already played the heck out of.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Now that I think about it, the (supposed) short length of Platinum's games is the only thing that's swaying me away from 101 and Bayo2.

Was Bayonetta 1 replayable?

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Kingdom Hearts II, Chrono Trigger

I would say on average I finish Lylat wars around 6 times a year each year since it's launch, now having it on the 3DS too means I can even do it on the loo, but pretty much every time I either have a reason to hook up my n64 or get a new TV this is my go to retro game to blast through, at this stage I could probably draw out exactly where each enemy will come onto the screen from on each route.

I've just done a playthrough of Fallout New Vegas, now doing one of Fallout 3. Recently played a lot of FFXII on PS2 and every now and then play smaller older games like Devil Dice, Kurushi and Crash Bandicoot 2...this is all in the last few months.

I wish I had something new to play.

Hmm, pie.

pharaoh.
Age of empires
Settlers
American conquest fight back
Simcity 4
Age of mythology
etc etc etc

The only last gen games I have played this gen, are Splinter Cell, Hitman, Beyond Good & Evil and Oddworst HD editions. So no, replay value doesn't mean much to me. I'm always looking forward to the next game, very rarely would I don't onto a game.

I play older games all the time. Last weekend I finished playing The Darkness on the PS3 and started playing my fav game of all time Deus Ex on the PS2 for the 3rd time. I love this port - being able to play this hardcore pc game on a couch with a gamepad, on my fav system, and they did such a great job re-making the interface. The frame rate is terrible at times but it only adds to the charm.
